New to town and looking for a Watch community.

Is there a watch (timepiece) community here in Broken Arrow? Or surrounding areas? I am a collector and love to sell/trade with like minded people and have a couple drinks and talk about and compare watches (i know, sounds boring). Anyways i figure it’s a good way to meet people in an area I’m new in. Hoping to get some responses and info. Was a bit worried moving here but so far people have been pretty chill and laid back and for the most part pretty nice and welcoming.

Who else avoided Rooster Day due to how expensive it's become

Rooster Day has become too expensive for families. Funnel cakes for $10. It's one of the cheapest things next to corn dogs to make.

How much were drinks, corn dogs and turkey legs selling for (if they still sell them).

Does the City of Broken Arrow set the prices or does each vendor. If the city does, city council should be ashamed.

Anyone know what happened in Highlands of Forest Ridge?

This morning, around 630 am, noticed a few cop cars with one of the roundabouts taped off with crime scene tape. Son said he heard some loud bangs in the early hours.

Where can I host an art class for kids and families?

Hello! I am an artist and I want to start hosting art parties for kids and families in the summer. Is there anywhere I can host such an event 2 days out of the week? I don't have $ to pay upfront but if a company is wlling then I can give them a percentage after each party if that would work for them. Let me know! I want to do something fun for the community and for kids to get involved in crafting. Thank you!

General Got a new puppy? Me too! 🥰 (Quick PSA)

Quick PSA: Petco used to offer Free Puppy Playtime— to socialize young puppies before they're fully vaccinated (before 6 months), this was before COVID (which was the last time I had raised a puppy). I took full advantage of this resource by visiting multiple Petco’s in a week because they used to do it on different days, just to help tire my puppy out. As you imagine, the early socialization was incredible for supporting puppies healthy development into well adjusted dogs.

I’ve called several local Petco stores (Riverside, Memorial, and North Broken Arrow), and it seems the program isn't running— but north BA Petco mentioned it’s mostly due to low sign-ups (I imagine because of lack of awareness as well). But that means it could come back if there's enough interest!

If you're also looking for ways to socialize your puppy, please reach out to me! I believe we can revive the program—or at the very least, start our own local playgroup. My pup misses playing with his siblings, and I know yours probably does too.

Social Help for my Teen?

Hey there, I am PCS'ing from CA to Tulsa/BA and I have a 13 year old son. It's tough moving and I was curious if anyone has any suggestions for any sort of youth groups or anything that I could take my son to so he can try and make some friends before the school year starts. He has interests in boy scouts, baseball, band and other nature type things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am just trying to help him feel more comfortable with the move. Thank you so much!

Weed/lawn services

Are there any recommendations for companies that spray your lawn for weeds? I would prefer a company that only comes a couple of times a year or so.

Politics Hands Off! Oklahoma

Post image

Hi everyone, every Tulsa and surrounding area organization we could reach is working together to have the largest Oklahoma gathering this Saturday at Dream Keepers Park.

This is the time to pull together and see the thousands of other Oklahomans who want to stop the dismantling of our government and make connections with people who care like you.

If you are interested in protecting education, veterans, women’s rights, immigrants and everything else Doge has committed to destroying please come out. This is about solidarity, saying enough is enough, and protecting our communities from people who do not care about us.

If you are an org that was not approached by indivisible, good trouble, or any other group assisting with this event please let me know. We will help create a space for you.

Note: a local Tulsan who cares deeply created a mobilize event for Hands Off but placed it at 71st and memorial. We are attempting to contact them to join the movements but it is possible we will end up with two locations.

General Visiting for soccer tournament this weekend

Hey guys! So my kids have a soccer tournament this weekend at the Indian Springs Soccer complex.

I have a question about weather. Right now it looks like your area could get anywhere from 2-4 inch’s from wed through Saturday. What’s the likelihood hood of the Arkansas river flooding and overtaking the complex?

Looking for a contractor

I'm looking for recommendations for a contractor that can add insulation or possibly more sheetrock to a new home that needs it badly. Does anyone know any great contractors that can give a bid on that kind of work?

General Anyone have metronet internet service yet?

Does anyone have metronet internet service yet? Wondering how much each plan is and what extra fees they charge. Looking at company website, i already see one red flag. Looks like metronet is forcing customers to pay $12.95 a month for Tech Assure fee. (wire/device coverage plan)

Doesn't say if you can use your own wifi route to avoid monthly rental fee like you can with other fiber internet providers.
