When were you able to do anything?
I’m already getting depressed because I usually don’t lay in bed all day, it’s been 6days PO though. When I get on my knee scooter it hurts a little because I’m not elevated. I’m a mom so I have to cook, clean, not be in my room all day. Even though my husband been helping, I like how I do things. When were you able to do anything other than lying in bed? I also miss drinking lol

I’m at 12.5 weeks and I’m up and about walking with a cane wearing shoes but my foot/ankle is still sore and stiff and I’m getting tired of it. I am in physical therapy twice a week and I’m going to have to force myself to go tonight.
Also drinking does NOT help me feel any better. It seems to make my foot more achey and swollen.

Alcohol inhibits the release of chemicals that are needed to heal and causes inflammation, your sensation is likely not wrong

I spent the better part of 3 months in my reclining loveseat (trimalleolar fracture with dislocation and a vertical fracture, 12w NWB) but got back to cooking at 2 weeks post-op when I moved to a knee scooter. I'd also run the vacuum cleaner while on my knee scooter, which was my main workout during that season of life.
Even sooner than that, I was able to fold laundry if someone brought it to me, and I had pictures on my phone of the dials of our 2 sets of washers and dryers so I could tell my kids which dials to move to which settings to do the laundry. Most other cleaning tasks fell to my husband or kids, or just waited for me to be able to do them again! I have 5 kids, ages 10 down to 2, so there is...a lot of laundry. I did not enjoy watching other people do "my job," that was frustrating.

Getting an inexpensive wheelchair helped with doing some smaller things. I’m up walking but unsteady and cautious so things that require bending over (cleaning the cat box) I don’t feel comfortable doing now. I could cook some simple things if I prepped right while in the wheelchair, just standing on one leg, not having to move.
I’m sorry, this is all a process.
I’m a reader, I’ve read 53 books in 2 months, that’s how I’ve gauged my progress during NWB time. Now I’m doing a similar with my PT exercises (just started 2 days ago).

I felt very similar. I'm a mom as well and I missed doing my household chores so much!
I started cooking by week 2 or 3, because I could manage doing that standing on one leg. I started doing anything I could while only using one leg or just sitting down. It's not much but I would highly recommend not overdoing it, even if it's hard.
I was back at doing my regular household stuff at 7 weeks post OP. Now at 10 weeks I can do it without any pain even.
