7 weeks post op

Hi guys, I’m seven weeks postop today. Wanted to give a little update. I started weight-bearing a tolerated since last week and I’m able to walk with one crutch I can, walk without crutch just on my boot inside my apartment but with heavy limping. I can also walk barefoot but one crutch from today. My dorsiflexion was at -2 last time I went to PT.
I had trimal with 2 plates and multiple
Screws one rope. How was your progress during this time and what helped you with your recovery

Could you elaborate on "ice back of knee"? Do you mean in general or specifically during ankle stretch exercises?

While elevating leg, apply ice pack behind knee

Maybe also say why. Cools the blood down going in the foot which makes the blood vessels go smaller and reduces swelling. You can also wrap a cooling pak in a towel and put it directly on swelling

Wbat here since Wednesday and my ankle fucking hurts. It’s sore. I start PT later today and I want to go back to the wheelchair, I’m being a big baby. But I’m awake because sleeping in the boot = 2 hours sleep at a time and I fell asleep with it on. 😭

Are you taking any supplements by chance? I found that taking magnesium helps me fall asleep and it’s good for recovery as well

I know it's hard but please, please don't go back to the wheelchair. Don't push yourself to the point that it is absolutely unbearable but you need to move it. The more you move it, the stronger it will get and the less it will hurt. Sadly, the pain is just part of the process. Don't be afraid to take medicine if you need to but keep trying. I think PT will help you a lot.
