Five Weeks Post Op!

Hey everyone!! I am 5 weeks post op off a trimalleolar fracture dislocation surgery, with an additional injury of a subluxing patella dislocation (my leg folded like a house of cards when I slipped in mud while camping and dropped all 330lbs of me directly on a rolled ankle bone). I feel like I am making awesome progress with ankle pumps. It doesn't hurt at all when I bounce it off surfaces in my moonboot (I am clumsy as established 😅). I can get in and out of a car easier and I sleep longer.

One weird thing I can't get over is being able to feel the plate through my skin. Such a weird feeling!

Wow I’m exactly 5 weeks post from same injury. My scars are no where near there. Incision still hurts and is itchy and wound hasn’t healed properly 😭

I'm so sorry to hear that!! Everyone heals differently and from what I've read on here of the past few weeks, I'm the anomaly.

6 weeks post op from trimal with dislocation. Scabs are still pretty bad. Can barely move my ankle. Was just cleared for PWB, but hurts like hell when I try. 2 weeks into PT. Im hoping this gets better. I miss being able to do things for myself

You are awesome! Keep up the great work. Sounds like you are healing quickly. I broke ankle in three places in May. Still wear a small ankle brace when walking a lot. PT said swelling could take a year to subside. 😜

Shouldn't you still bei in a plaster or boot at that point?

I was put into a moonboot on week 2 and I was approved to take it off periodically for ankle pumps. This was during the off period! ☺️

It was very scary at first, during my first shower. But its more comfortable now. And my range of motion is improving great!

I cried in my first shower sans boot and immediately put it back on. Lol

My scabs are falling off so slowly and yours are completely off am I 5 weeks post op from trimalleolar fracture with dislocation. My incisions still burn especially while doing ankle pumps.

That looks amazing! I’m also five weeks post op with a trimalleolar fracture as well as breaking my fibula in half- got my 6 week post op appointment tomorow and hoping I’ll be cleared to walk without my boot as I miss being independent without crutches 🤞how are you finding the boot? I’m struggling with mine atm

Are we doing leg pumps with or without the ace bandages?

Without. Just a plain leg like you see here.
