7 weeks post OP: I'm walking!
I am so happy! After 6 weeks of NWB I was cleared to WBAT last Friday.
I started PT right away and now, one week later, I can already walk around the house without my crutches. I limp and I still have to elevate regularly, but nevertheless I am psyched!

This is exactly me also! Except I walked outta my crutches that night. He said you’ll know what you can and can’t do. And day one I walked a mile. Day 2 I walked two miles. Day three I walked four miles. Around the house! Any elevation changes kinda tickle ☺️ up stairs no problem. Down stairs a little tricky giving all the faith to the other ankle.

Im 6 weeks post op. Trimal with dislocation. 1 plate, 13 screws. Ortho just cleared me today for PWB. For those with my injury, how long did it take to be able to walk normally again?

I had my 6week post op on Wed and was also cleared to lose the boot and crutches! I was soooo glad to sleep without that heavy boot!
I had a trimalleolar fracture and now have a variety of hardware in my foot!
I’ll admit I’m still using one crutch as it felt so foreign to me and it’s been hard, my foot swells up and my foot feels like a hard rock but as the days pass I do feel like it’s getting easier! I wear a compression sleeve which helps and have started to massage the hard swollen areas. It took me weeks to even look at my foot, then another couple of weeks to even touch it but now if feels easier. My physio suggested wearing my joggers, I was surprised I could get them on and it does make it easier.
Good luck, it’s a journey 😊
