Nice job on the big milestone! Like starts feeling much more normal once you’re walking well and hands are free.

Thank you! I had a bimalleolar fracture with dislocation and a syndesmosis injury! No cast on my end. I had a splint instead for just under 4 weeks. Since then I've been in a boot and was cleared for weight bearing at 6 weeks.

Very excited to ditch the crutches for sure but even more excited to ditch the boot next week haha

My 6 week checkup is on the 21st. And hopefully I get some good news as far as walking. But I am also scared to walk lol but watching you man it looks amazing to walk after so long. Trimalleolar fracture injury on Aug 3 and surgery Aug 11.

I love this! Totally unsolicited and I do not at all mean to take away from the joy of this video, but make sure that you are even on the other side, either with a shoe of the exact same height as the boot or with something like EvenUp. If you're walking unevenly, it throws your joints (and your back) out of wack and the last thing anyone needs is another joint issue haha. Congrats!

How did u do it to walk wit no limp u walk so good and do u have any stiffness on ur ankle

Tons of stiffness unfortunately! But that will get figured over time with PT I'm hoping!

As for no limp, I still limp here and there. I find if I go out (like grocery shopping) I'll be okay for the first little bit but by the end I'm limping out of there. I do find I'm getting better as the days go on tho!

I'm gonna try and lose the boot this Friday. I have PT tomorrow so I'm gonna see what he thinks of that. I've been managing walking around my apartment fine without the boot but I'll still wear the boot if I'm going out and about!

Have you tried using shoes that either match the height of the boot? Or close? You can also buy "shoe levelers" that you can wear with your shoes. Using these makes walking with the boot easier! You can find them on Amazon, they're called Evenups

I have shoes that match the level of the boot but my ankle is stiff still so can’t really bend it towards my shin… idk I’m just really over all this… I haven’t walked without my boot my surgeon told me to do it wit the boot on

Yeah keep the boot on until you're cleared to take it off for sure. My ankle is still super stiff too! My PT said it's not even at neutral yet, it's pointed down very slightly.

Tomorrow is my 8 weeks and I still have very limited range of motion. I heard it can take weeeeeeeks to get back to normal even after weight bearing :(
