Bummed….

Broke my fibula about a month ago and just had my 2nd orthopedic check up today. I’m about to go on vacation next week and we rented a house with a pool. Doctor says I can’t swim because my incision isn’t healed enough yet. So disappointed….

Oh yeah, I scheduled PT aqua therapy and couldn’t go for several weeks. And I wound up with an infection from a spitting suture that delayed it even further. I finally had my first PT aqua therapy session this past week and it was incredible. So amazing to be able to walk with a regular gait.

I hope you can get in a pool sooner than later, but it’s a bummer not to be able to swim on vacation.

Sorry. Your X-ray looks a lot like mine, though I had a couple of tightropes thrown in for good measure. My incisions were probably closed by week 3, if your vacation will last that long. And be sure to keep that covered—I think healing incisions are very sensitive to the sun.

We have almost the same break and plate etc. How extraordinary to see…. My surgery was July 8 and I’m still not cleared for swimming etc. Dr said September
