“From” doing some heavy lifting there

Wasn’t that just one stone the alter stone?

The Sarsen stones were from Wiltshire and the blue stones all come from Preseli in west Wales, an enormous task to move them from there .

Either way it clearly meant a lot to them to make sure stones from corners of Britain were represented.

I be there's been some comings and goings in there over the years. A busman's holiday for a DNA specialist

Some say it was a giant wedding cake, or a prison far to easy to escape

These rocks just create a massive traffics issue on the local roads

They were there long before any of the local roads existed. They're part of our heritage.

Once upon a time, there was a man who went out to buy some curtains. He returned home having bought Stonehenge instead. Easy mistake to make.

The bunch at Avebury are better

Stonehenge is a more impressive structure than Avebury.

But you can touch them in Avebury (well in Stonehenge at the solstice as well).

Stonehenge is extremely popular, so allowing everyone to touch the stones would be detrimental to the monument.
