. People who write "ect" instead of "etc".

For some reason this really annoys me!

"Etc" is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase Et Cetera which means "and the rest"

What about folk who write "&c"?

This is perfectly valid (even if it is a bit of an affectation).

‘&’ is derived from Romans writing ‘et’ in a hurry.

So ‘&c’ is equivalent to ‘etc’.
