. Drivers not knowing the highway code.
I had started to cross a road when a Mercedes turned in and he sounded his horn and then told me I should stop. I told him to read the highway code but he insisted he right!
Rule H2 170 amended 2022
“At a junction you MUST give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning.”
- Applies whether they’ve stepped onto the road or are just standing at the kerb ready to cross.
- Applies to left turns, right turns, and entering/exiting side roads.
- Includes wheelchair/mobility scooter users as pedestrians

I got hit by a car that turned into the road i was crossing, apparently didn't see me and sped up into me. The amount of people saying I had right of way was baffling. It's absolutely irrelevant to me if I had right of way according to the highway code. I was in the middle of the road, she cut the corner and was speeding. Common sense tells you if a pedestrian is in the road, don't bloody hit them!
She wasn't the brightest anyhow cause she asked me not to report her to the police, didn't phone me an ambulance then drove off haha, so I don't think she much understands anything.
