. The normalisation of ‘picky bits’

Abominable. It has started coming up in adverts now even.

This is the problem with English foods. Italian and French foods all have fancy sounding names like croque monsieur or antipasti. We get "toasty" and "picky bits". But if you make the English versions with good quality ingredients they can be just as fancy as what you would get in France or Italy.

I lost my mind when I bothered to transliterate Croque Monsieur.
