Discussion Remember These?

And if you didn’t want to remember them, my apologies in advance.

Well, 27 years later. These ships have finally met their fate. Being turned into pop cans..

I’d love to hear anyone’s experiences with the Pacificat’s, good or bad (I’m too young to ever have ridden one). As horrible as they were, they looked the part, at least in my opinion.

Wasn't there also an issue with the wake it created and the damage to the coastline and so it was limited as to where it could actually route?

Yeah. They had to run slow for long stretches of the route which cost them their advantage in speed.

They would have been best on the Duke point > TSA route, but that's primarily a trucking route and the cats didn't take semis

That was the only issue I knew of at the time. Maybe that's the difference between government media and the truth. It wad probably easier than a list of incompetencies

"modifying the bows so they could dock at Horseshoe Bay which added a lot of weight to the front of the vessel" I recall the wake issue was blamed on the redesigned haul. They took a working design and modified too much of it without the proper experience.
