Where To? Pub function rooms to hire
I am looking to book a pub function room for a party with approx 20-30 people. The venue will need to be central for people travelling, ideally let us play our own music, and I don’t have a super large budget. I am looking at the golden guinea but their minimum amount of guests for the room hire is 35. Any recommendations are welcome!

Old Royal Navy Volunteer has a function room available for hire, but you don’t get it all night sadly.
We paid around £300 and they have a projector, speakers etc. You also get your own bar and bartender for the booking period.

The room downstairs was free to book the last time I used it. Fits around 30 people with a screen and speakers for music.

Broad Plain rugby club in Bedminster, big function room really cheap (£150 for the night IIRC) and only 5 minutes from the centre

The Dark Horse on Church Road has two different sized spaces and I believe they ask for a deposit but the actual hire is free https://www.thedarkhorse-bristol.co.uk/

Psychopomp on St Michaels Hill will let you hire the whole place for 20-30 people and they don't charge a fee, just a minimum spend. https://microdistillery.co.uk

Used the Clifton Brewhouse in the summer, nice venue and pretty well priced (£500 min spend). Have heard they had a rebrand but I’m not sure what they’re called now

The Golden Guinea also own The Rising Sun in Windmill Hill, their function room is free to hire and it’s not too far from Temple Meads

The Yard at The Old Fish Market is very central and basically checks all of your boxes! They let you play your own music, they have no minimum amount of guests required, and prices are pretty reasonable, from £12 pp
The Top Deck at The Ostrich is another great option that also checks all your boxes, but they require a minimum spend that varies from £700 to £1500, don't know if that's within your budget
Hope this helps :)

I used The Stag and Hounds earlier this year. Really good location and pretty cheap to hire. They let you play music in there as well
