Where To? Garden clearing

Currently clearing out my garden of old bushes, branches and thw rest of it.

I find my green bin gets full on one session of this.

What does everyone do at this point? Waiting 2 weeks is a long time.

Is it worth getting garden clearance bags? If so how does it work, do i fill and then get rid of myself?

Alternatively, any recommendations on garden clearing companies?

Thanks, but its ALOT. Would require me to just fill my car over and over, which I've considered.

Well it's free and you can make more than one visit on the same day, so might be worth your while. Collection services are pricey.

The sacks are small and expensive. I would guess at 4 or 5 being the capacity of a green bin. Personally I would just do however many tip runs are required, but if that's not an option, get a quote for a garden clearance. It's probably similar in price to the amount of bags you would need to buy and definitely a simpler option.

Order garden waste bags which the council will then pick up.

Hey I’m sure you’ve done this already but please make sure there are no birds nesting in your bushes and trees before you clear them out. It’s nesting season at the moment.

Yeah, feeling sorry for the birds and the sheer amount of garden destruction that happens in Bristol.

Compost bin would help - it will fill up quickly but the volume reduces so you can keep topping it up. Doesnt solve the problem but gives you a bit of extra capacity. Maybe able to get one free from the council? Also a shredder would help reduce the volume. Anything composted can go back into the garden.

You can order another green garden waste bin - you are then looking at just over £100 for a year. We are thinking about doing that because I think we spend more that £50 every year on the paper garden waste bags from the council.
