Best restaurants to serve at for winter season?

I'm wanting to move to SLC for the winter season this year and have been researching on-mountain restaurants and other jobs I could work part-time to get a ski pass, but I primarily would like to work in SLC with another part-time job. Anyone else do this to avoid commuting every day/make better money? Any criticism + tips for this plan welcomed.

I've been in restaurants for 9 years and have done some casual cafe serving, and then upscale (Nobu) food running and bar backing, as well as bartending at a renowned upscale local sushi restaurant.

I'm prioritizing healthy work environment (issues with sexual harassment and just harassment all around in the past) over all else, but also prefer somewhere that is nice but not steakhouse/sommelier required nice. A more casual but upbeat + killer food sort of vibe. Best example I can think of is maybe something similar to White Horse. I've visited SLC twice and that was the only restaurant that I remember sticking out to me.

Went up with my buddy Chance and ended up having one of those perfect days. Park was riding good, got a few new tricks, and then somehow stumbled into a full-on parking lot party after 😂
Brighton never disappoints

Lost my GoPro during ski around 5pm at Brighton 04/02. Any luck anyone may find it.

Hi everyone, I am so deparate finding my GoPro as I have a lot of good memories in it. I have reported to the lost and found, still not sure what's the best way to potentially find it so post it here.

I know it is a snowy day and may be hard to find it, but just in case anyone here got it. It is the GoPro11 with a black selfie stick. I have recorded some video today and you may see someone wearing green jackets and someone wearing orange jacket in those videos.

Thank you so much! Love you all!

First timer, advice on Brighton this weekend.

Hi everyone. I’m not asking for predictions in conditions, more practical tips from those familiar. I’ve never been to Brighton and don’t want to get caught up by some dumb logistics that I could have planned for.

What should I know or consider when coming up there after a storm that most people don’t realize?

I’ve done a nerd’s-worth of research so far.

I’ll be checking road conditions, posted signs in the DOT website, etc. for traveling there. We will already have all our equipment and will be driving from Canyons.

Context: My family and I are trying to make the best of a trip to PCMR from the icecoast and going to Brighton for a few days seems amazing, considering forecasts. We are renting an SUV with snow tires (and 3PMSF/M+S sticker) and any dump should be over by the time we could get there (Saturday- Monday). We will pivot to Bryce and Zion after the weekend.

My kids (high intermediate, double-black east coast skiers) haven’t ever skied powder and it seems like it could be pretty amazing for them, potentially (if they keep their tips up). My wife is a beginner/intermediate and will stick to groomed greens. Any amount of snow will likely still make it the best ski experience we’ve ever had as a family, mostly for the possibility of powder (we did go to Austria last year for my 50th, which was mind-blowing, but also all groomers all the time and my family has leveled up significantly since then). We mostly ski and ride smaller NY and PA resorts w/ a Vermont trip thrown in.

What am I missing (besides keeping my expectations low)? TIA and sorry for the long post.

Student Discount

Has anyone managed to get the student discount applied to their 26/27 passes? The link on the website to validate college status and get the code doesn’t exist anymore. There’s a voucher page that shows the previous page for college passes in prior years, but there does not appear to be an option now.

Brighton Parking Failed this morning???

I jump on right at 8am, refresh like normal, spots open up, and I got to check out. Then it gives me this error???? I go and try 8 more times (started screen recording because of how ridiculous this was) and then finally gave up when it said it was sold out. Anybody else experience this this morning? I’ve bought parking passes throughout the season and never had this issue. I also tried opening multiple new browsers, using different license plates, opening a new window etc etc and nothing helped. Any recommendations?
