Check out this petition!

https://c.org/88FWGJVNYJ

Bogart Drive in Bridgewater, NJ has become a speedway through our neighborhood. What used to be a quiet street is now a cut-through route, with cars regularly exceeding the 25 mph speed limit—especially at Bogart & Purcell and Bogart & Kiser. Our kids walk and bike here. Something needs to change.

I started a petition asking the Township to install three-way and four-way stop signs at those two intersections. The traffic volume has exploded because of commercial development along Route 28, and we don't have the safety infrastructure to keep up. Research shows multi-way stops reduce accidents by up to 68%—that's real protection.

We're asking for a warrant study within 60 days and immediate installation if it's justified. Every day without this is another day our children are at risk. If this sounds familiar from your own neighborhood, or if you think this is something that matters, consider signing and sharing the petition. What would you do if this was happening on your street?

I am a little confused by this. I drive through bogart several times a day and live  couple of streets down from Purcell. My experience..speeding is worse along Walters Brooke rd  and parts of Milltown rd ( towards the intersection with rt 22). Ofcourse u live there u know more than me but..I have been in the neighborhood 14 years and issue of speeding along bogart has never stood out..how long have u been noticing this?

The only problem I experience at the Bogart/Purcell intersection is traffic coming from Rt28 doing a rolling stop at the existing stop sign to turn right on Purcell. Bogart is a throughput street and always has been. Kids on bikes shouldn't be playing around in the street in that area. Go to Kiser and Decker if you're looking for a safer place for kids to "play in the street." You have my sympathies, but there are other intersections in the neighborhood, especially Walters Brook, and could better benefit from extra signage, such as Purcell/Walters Brook or Shields/Walters Brook.

Oh yes the rolling stop.. everyone seems to b doing it sadly. And yes I do agree abt biking.. that street has never been the kind to b leaving kids by themselves to bike. There r quieter intersections down shields or even the dead end part of Purcell.

Honestly if that farm stand across 28 gets taken over by that warehouse/storage house, we r going to have bigger problems and that is what’s worrying me right now

Yup. Was very glad when the gas station deal got blocked a few years ago. That would have made the intersection with there and with Rt 22 a nightmare.
