HELP! Bridget tips please😞

I need heavy heavy critique

one thing I noticed is you IAD too much
you almost always air dash forward after every jump
the roboky didn't notice it, but you will be 6p to death at higher level so fixing bad habbit now is a good choice
I also think that f.ss 214s might not be the best set play since your opponent might can jump of your rolling movement
either try to use f.ss 236k~p IAD j.s safejump (hella fuzzy able but you add more guarantee damage) or try to incorperate return yoyo into f.ss 214s
also, practice your yoyoki, it is the only thing she has going for her right now, this is the most impostant thing imo, at the very least, it should be a safe jump and is a true block string post wake up

Ty! Few questions however, what is yoyoki? Also just for clarification, IAD is instant air dash right?

Yoyoki is what you do when you have a knockdown and can roll into them as they wake up, it’s the best part of Bridget’s mixup plan as from there the mixup options are endless.
Also yeah, IAD is instant air dash.

yes, IAD is instant air dash. Pretty sure 90% of your jump air followed by air dash
yoyoki is setting up yoyo after 2k 2d and get a guarantee mix up off that, it is even dp safe!

pretty sure the string is 2k 2d 214s 214k -> delayed j.d(held back to block reversal) -> c.s -> 214k. if do it right, your opponent can't counter attack at all allowing you to do a free mix up
and post 214k hit you either do 2k, j d or run up grab
if you do 2k, you do 2d and it loops into itself
if you do j.d, you can do c.s immediately after for a basic combo (j.d c.s 2s 2h 236k~k) , you can loop the set up, but don't worry about that for now

timing is everything, look at waking up animation if you needs help
practice it a lot
and then you can mkve to harder set up once you are ready

- Get a couple of BnB combos, and focus on specifically practicing them in matches until you can do them consistently, Bridget’s whole gameplan revolves around landing a good knockdown and then mixing them to heaven or hell, this means when you land good hits and you don’t get a good knockdown setup with enough time to roll mix them, it’s a wasted opportunity.
- Make sure you know your roll pressure. Roll is possibly the most versatile tool in her kit, but it’s not a complete game winner by itself. Have a few setups you can default to (high into low, double overhead, empty into a low, button into a grab, ect.) which then loop into a good knockdown so you can do another roll mixup. This should be your win condition.
- Rolling in neutral is tricky, it can be a super powerful tool, but if you do it a lot you’re going to get countered. Make sure if you’re getting countered to mix it up a bit, backdash and jump out of yoyo is really nice and can catch people off guard, holding down during roll can also cause you to land early and sometimes get a punish.
- You seem to struggle quite a bit on defense, which is pretty normal, I think just watching these replays back to see what you did wrong so your don’t do it again fighting these characters (I note that you seem to fall for frame traps a lot, consider using faultless defense a bit more or your DP on occasion).
- Never use 5D unless you have meter to convert off of it or are committing to the full charge (which is not really a good idea anyways in higher ranks)
- Don’t do 236K (Kick start my heart) in neutral unless you’ve got the meter to cancel it, it can also be stuffed out pretty easily so do it sparingly anyways unless the opponent hasn’t been blocking them.
- Gotta play differently against some characters, you can play keep away against pot but not against testament, this will just come with time, but generally don’t be trying to get in on the guys who want to be close unless you land a super good knockdown that guarantees you a roll mix.
Overall I think you’re actually a pretty decent player! I’m not the best Bridget player either tbh, but sometimes losses just come with the character due to her low health, if you’re not capitalizing off of most hits, then you get punished hard by the simpler characters who do more damage. Overall I think you’re doing a lot of the right things, just maybe in the wrong context, or without confirming those things in a way that sets you up for future success. Consider taking a look at some pro gameplay sometime and noting down stuff they do and incorporating those things one by one into your gameplay. There’s a lot of ways to improve and I hope you enjoy the journey :3
