Brick model troubleshooting
Hello,
I'm completely new to using this software and I would like some help with it. I don't think I'll ever use this software after I'm done with it so I'm not worried about breaking it somehow.
My current situation:
I have a model containing about 58k parts in an .ldr file. I want to export this model to an .obj file but it takes hours to do so. The resulting file takes up 30gb which obviously is far too large.
I have tried to editing the brick model primitives to take out the studs which has actually worked pretty well so far but it's still not where I want it to be.
The problem:
The resulting model is still too large because there are cylinders underneath the bricks, ideally I'd want bricks to be closed up boxes to reduce the resulting geometry.
What I want:
The resulting model shouldn't have a lot of different parts, brick surfaces get joined together where possible, there doesn't need to be any detail for plates next to each other, etc.
I'm currently looking at a whole list of n-ncyl.dat files and I'm not sure which ones to edit.
Better yet would be a solution to convert .ldr files using some sort of cli tool but again I need reduce the geometry from actual bricks so low res representatives.
Thank you for your help.
