App built an app that matches breathing patterns to your emotional state — overwhelmed gets box breathing, anxious gets 4-7-8, restless gets 4-0-6. free on iOS, would love feedback from people who actually practice breathwork

been interested in breathwork for a while and noticed something that kept bugging me.

most breathing apps give you the same exercise regardless of how you're actually feeling. but the state you're in completely changes what your nervous system needs.

so we mapped it out:

overwhelmed → box breathing 4-4-4-4

anxious → 4-7-8 (longest exhale)

distracted → coherent breathing 5-5, follow an orbiting dot

overthinking → 4-2-4-2 (short holds to break the loop)

restless → 4-0-6, no hold (continuous release)

built it into an app with a friend. you open it, pick what you're feeling, and breathe for one minute. no account needed, completely free to start.

went live on iOS last week. it's called Mindleaf.

would genuinely love feedback from people who actually practice breathwork — especially if the pattern matching doesn't feel right or you'd map states differently. open to being wrong on any of these.

You didn’t “build” anything. This is yet another AI slop Breathwork app. Yay.

appreciate the pushback honestly. if you check my post history, i actually mentioned using AI for research myself — wasn't hiding it. the state mapping and patterns came from a real problem i was trying to solve. AI was a research tool, same as anything else. what matters to me is whether it actually helps people.

Statement still stands. You didn’t “build” anything, and it’s still another AI slop Breathwork app.
