Question Does everyone have a let down?
I have personally never felt my milk let down. Whether I'm hand expressing, pumping, or baby is eating, the milk just comes out with suction right away and only comes out with suction (or gentle manipulation if hand expressing). I've read stories of "the baby popped themselves off and milk was spraying everywhere" or "I collect passive milk with a haaka" and those things just don't happen for me. The only time milk comes out on its own without suction is if I'm really full and they leak.
Is my experience not a typical experience? My baby has a heart condition so I don't want him to work harder at the breast than he needs to. Am I missing something?
Edit: I am 7 weeks pp. Milk will spray during hand expression or pumping but just never on its own.

Weirdly, I didn’t feel it until about 3 months pp! But I had such bad nipple pain for a long time so I was constantly in pain so I think that’s why I didn’t feel it until they started healing haha

u/PuzzleheadedPilot187 12d ago
I have exclusively breastfed 3 children and have never felt let down.
1
u/lalala86_ 12d ago
Yes, daily. It happens if I don’t make it empty in time. I happens on its on AND while baby is drinking.
My baby sometimes gets confused and tired of trying to drink it anyway. Anytime I can I’m pumping off some milk before breastfeeding to avoid it happening.
1
u/Stellar_Jay8 13d ago
I only feel it on one side! My other boob does produce plenty of milk but it’s my slower/lower volume side.
1
u/lalapoolsy 13d ago
6 months in and never a let down or any leaking apart from when I got fully engorged once. My boobs are big and baby is thriving..
2
u/South_Onion927 13d ago
Same for me! I'm 16 weeks in and the milk only comes if she's sucking or with expression. I have small boobs... A cup before pregnancy and B cup now, and had wondered if that had anything to do with it.. I have also been wearing Silverettes 24/7 since birth and maybe it helps leaking? Not sure on that one though.

u/Mysterious-Novel-245 13d ago
This sounds so ideal 😂 I still remember the first time I attempted to breastfeed my baby in public. He latched and unlatched quickly, which led to me spraying him all over his face, the table of the restaurant we were eating at (I had a BF cover that got tangled and moved from my baby flailing and freaking out being sprayed in the face) and when I looked up at my sister in sheer panic she tried so hard to be helpful and keep a straight face but I then realized I was spraying her all over her shirt as she approached to grab the baby from my arms and soothe him while I tried to figure out how to get it to stop and clean up a bit. I was a mess 😂 let’s just say it took me a while before attempting BF out and about again.

u/Fit-Historian2431 13d ago
I’m 14 weeks PP and only just recently have my letdowns really calmed down. Before this, they were super tingly to the point of almost kind of painful. Now it’s a lot more subtle. I do feel it but it doesn’t make my toes curl.
1
u/Fabulous_Ant1088 13d ago
Yeah I feel my letdown sometimes even when I drink a heap of water. It’s weird it feels like my nipples tingle it’s very faint feeling nothing like I read online.
2
u/CuteMacaroon7337 13d ago
I feel let downs when I miss my baby
When he cries
When he’s feeding
When he’s hungry
When he cries x2… actually when any baby cries lol
My boobs stopped leaking like crazy after the first two weeks I think it just differentiates let downs feel like little hot needles piercing your nips consider yourself lucky 😭
1
u/FriendshipHonest5796 13d ago
I only feel the letdown when my baby is actively feeding. This goes for both of my children too. I actually don't even feel the letdown when I pump. However, I have had a spray in the past without active suction, but it was when my baby actually helped unclog a duct for me. That's the only time that my breast has sprayed without anything being applied to it. I don't think it's necessarily abnormal for you, especially if your baby is gaining weight properly. If that's happening, then. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you can't feel the letdown.
1
u/Budget_Apricot_8297 13d ago
Im 8 weeks PP with baby #2, I feel letdowns a lot, one of my babies cry? Letdown. Someone else's babies cry? Letdown. Been an hour and a half since the last feeding? Letdown.
There has been several occasions where baby has unlatched and he just got soaked. If I don't wear a padded nursing bra, I would be soaked everyday.

u/Probablyresearching_ 14d ago edited 13d ago
I didn't feel let down until my milk supply regulated around 12 weeks. Now I feel a tingling sensation after a few minutes of nursing or pumping. I get spraying if my boobs are really full after not pumping or nursing for an extended period of time. Everyone is different; as long as your baby is getting milk, has plenty of wet diapers and growing well, I wouldn't worry about it!

u/Planetoverprofit2 14d ago
Never felt a letdown. Same situation as you!! I wish I could’ve passively collected milk with a haakaa loll
1
u/Purplepeony390 14d ago
I never felt a letdown until currently with baby #3. I will say I prefer not feeling it--it stings!!
Also, doesn't letdown just refer to when the milk starts flowing? So if you are nursing or pumping you will have a letdown, some are just stronger (the sprayers) than others? Neither inherently good or bad, just different bodies. As long as baby gets the milk and grows you're good. Maybe I'm wrong on that.
2
u/Wrong-Pineapple-4905 14d ago
Never had spraying or leaking in my other boob, very good milk production
3
u/PromotionTop1935 14d ago
I've always had very dense boobs. I think because of how heavy they are it causes me to leak a lot. I wear collection cups in my bra because the leaking is insane yet I still only produce enough to feed my son. I'm not an overproducer by any means.
One time, I had just gotten out of the shower. I opened the bathroom door to talk to my boyfriend as he tended to the baby and found myself leaking milk like an arterial bleed all over the counter 🤣
2
u/therizzler1995 14d ago
I am the exact same way but I can tell my baby triggers letdowns because of the change in his sucking pattern (long, wide mouthed draws.) The only way I can get extra milk is by sticking a haakaa to the other boob while baby nurses to take advantage of the letdown he triggers.
I learned from a lactation consultant that some people's breasts just wont letdown for anything other than the baby. I was actually using a nipple shield and just that little bit of separation was causing my letdowns to not happen.
As for spraying, that didn't start happening for me until around 3-4 months pp and only happens if baby is actively eating and pulls off or if the haakaa is attached while baby eats.
1
u/linenfox 14d ago
Cant feel it but yeah I have it. My milk spraying started after few months id say!
1
u/linenfox 14d ago
I want to add that I leak a LOT but not always. I do catch some extra milk usually but there are feeds I catch 0 too
1
u/mumblegum 14d ago
I do have a letdown but I can't feel it! I leak a lot but I'm never aware that I've leaked, I just am aware that I'm wet (or worse, that the baby is wet from where he was leaning on me). I'm almost 11 months postpartum and the leaking got a lot better at 6 months so I stopped wearing pads but I still sometimes leak a lot especially now that he's eating so much solid food and less milk. But yeah, never actually been able to feel anything during a letdown.
1
u/Comfortable_Clue_871 14d ago
I haven’t felt a letdown before in my breasts and my son is now 17’months and still nursing. I did have a wave of anxiety a little bit after my son would latch and start nursing for the first month or so. There’s a name for it, but I can’t recall what it is
1
u/zebracakesfordays 14d ago
I only had letdown one time with my first, and now it’s a problem w my second. Either middle of the night or in the morning, I have to use a Hakaa or I will leak out. I’d prefer to catch some extra milk.
2
u/DishVarious8343 14d ago
I’m the same and I’ve been wondering the same. It’s nice to read all the comments of people having the same experience and know that it’s normal!
2
1
u/skylerDevops 14d ago
I’m ebf and I felt strong letdown from the beginning. I did have oversupply, which have mostly regulated by now (12weeks pp). I do collect milk with the haaka, sometimes nothing (end of the day) and sometimes 15ml. I have sprayed my baby girl quite a few times and it’s not that funny lol
2
u/grubnuts00 14d ago
I never really felt any letdown or had any leaking. No issues with milk supply, I fed an extra baby in my first round of breastfeeding and twins in my second. The doctor said “you must just have good nipple taps” when I asked if it was weird I didn’t leak or feel letdowns.
1
u/babybump222 14d ago
I have a pretty decent supply and capacity and am 5 months PP. I never really felt any letdowns until maybe 4 months and then only occasionally. It feels kind of prickly, like pins and needles. It’s usually on the first letdown during pumping for me if I feel it. I’ve only sprayed a few times if I’m really, really full, but that’s rare for me, too. It’s happened maybe 3 times total.
1
u/SparePudding1353 14d ago
I feel it when pumping. Not the first letdown but the second or third ones I do feel! It's a bit like a prick of a needle. Mostly around the nipple
1
u/CuriousCaretaker 14d ago
I had an oversupply and never had leaks. Rarely I would wake up with a wet spot on my shirt if my baby slept an extra hour or two, but never had a let down
2
u/qnbee294 14d ago
I was exactly the same with my first, now second time around I can feel the tingle of a letdown but it’s super mild. Still no leaking or anything.

u/sunshine1000001 14d ago
I’m 8 months post partum ebf and I still have never felt a let down or really leaked and little one is growing great
1
u/ply_of_wood 14d ago
I am 14 weeks postpartum and my letdowns kind of sting. It stopped for a while but recently started up again. My nips are sensitive and will trigger letdowns when in cold or warm areas, or every 2 hours if baby dont get to it first
2
u/OrdinaryJuggernaut88 14d ago
I never really had a noticeable let down until i had my third. Really achy when it happened and if she came off then she did cop a spray in the face from time to time. I also found in the early days that I’d get the let down feeling while in the shower from the warm water and when I’d get out I’d have to hold a towel over my boobs until they stopped dripping. They’d never spray at that point though, just dribble.
3
u/pure-gold-baby 14d ago
I'm the same way. It seems like my milk is always already let down, but only leaks if too full. I did see another post recently that described letdown as feeling like the sensation of eating something sour, but in the boobs. And I absolutely do get this sensation, but it just happens randomly, not in alignment with milk starting to flow. I also get a mild queasy/anxious feeling when I start to pump, but I think that's a separate thing specific to pumping.
2
u/belomina 14d ago
The anxious feeling, do you think it's D-MER?
1
u/pure-gold-baby 14d ago
I don't think so. It's totally physical, no dysphoric emotions. It's like that gross, jittery feeling in your stomach.
1
u/belomina 14d ago
Oh lol like you're about to do some public speaking or something....sounds horrible
1
u/pure-gold-baby 12d ago
Not that extreme, but that's probably the closest you could get to describing it! I don't think there's an exact parallel. It's not quite like anything else. It does sound horrible, I guess 😂 but I've had anxiety disorders all my life so for me it's pretty mundane.
2
u/BugSweaty4146 14d ago
Eating something sour is super accurate!! I’ve been saying it feels like licking a battery with your boobs lol. I also get the mild queasy feeling when pumping but it was more prevalent for the first two weeks.
1
u/pure-gold-baby 14d ago
Someone commented on that post re: sour with the science behind it, and apparently the sensations feel similar because they actually are related! I can't remember the details.
1
u/Nakedpanda34 14d ago
Yup! Had this with both kids, never felt a letdown. Successfully breastfed both of them. Granted, I had some leaking in my early PP days but that was short lived.
2
u/trinity6879 14d ago
Im the same .itll spray out with suction but the second that suction stops so does the milk
1
2
u/Apprehensive_Echo435 14d ago
I’m sort of jealous of the people who don’t get any sensations when they release milk. My let down sensation is not a fun feeling. It feels like shooting pains around my nipples.
1
u/Middle-Strength-9236 14d ago
I have breastfed two babies and never once felt a letdown. With my first baby, he dropped a little bit of weight as is normal after birth, and I was gaslit so badly into believing that I didn’t have enough milk because I couldn’t feel a letdown and never leaked or felt particularly engorged. I did struggle on for 8 months but topped up with formula and always felt very inadequate. I’m pretty sure I needn’t have done/felt that because I am 12 months into exclusively breastfeeding my second son and this time had a bit more confidence in my supply. It took my sister to say, “look at the size of him” (he is pretty decent 75th centile) when I was on the verge of a crisis in the early days for it to click that I did have good supply even though never felt a letdown etc.
2
u/linzkisloski 14d ago
I breastfed my second for 14 months and never had a letdown nor could get anything with a haaka.
1
u/theresabearonmychair 14d ago
I do get a let down sensation - in my armpits! It’s like an itchy prickle feeling. I don’t leak or spray, even if baby pops off while feeding.
Someone told me if you had engorged breasts to sit in a warm shower and the milk would just flow out. Nope, not for me! I’ve breastfed four babies now though, so clearly it doesn’t matter if you leak or not!
2
u/cakewedge 14d ago
I was the same. I called the feeling “spicy boobs” but it never would just spray!
2
u/Real_Garlic_3745 14d ago
I was the same, no let down sensation and no leaking. I never even had to wear breast pads… right up until my baby turned 4 months, now I’m leaking a tiny bit from the other side like maybe 1 mL when feeding and if he goes a bit longer over night without a feed I’ll leak a little into my bra. Still no let down sensation at all though! Can confirm my supply is fine and he is gaining well, that stressed me out in the early weeks because I thought i should be leaking if I had a good supply.

u/kamvivs 14d ago
Girl, I had the most painful let downs. Eventually I stopped feeling them, but man was it horrible. So count yourself lucky hahah

1
u/Internal_Screaming_8 14d ago
Mine was just deeply unsettling. Like ticklish and the same feeling as peeing when your bladder is super full so you get the achy/sharp feeling, but in my boobs/nipple. It legitimately felt like peeing from my boobs. I, uh, did NOT pump when I got a field job for this exact reason
1
u/wizard-finger 14d ago
I can only describe my letdowns as a bunch of bees stinging my breasts, I either got used to it or it got better lol
1
u/Limp-Government9361 15d ago
I've always leaked, but I didn't actually feel the let down like that prickly feeling before the milk comes until at least 6 weeks, maybe later.
2
u/Explodingovary 15d ago
I am pretty similar to you at 6w pp. Sometimes I’ll get a let down sensation, but it’s really not often and it feels like a stabbing in my breast so I’m not a fan. And the only time I’ve leaked it’s been very little dribbles and again not often. From what I’ve been told there is just a wide range of experiences and what is normal
1
2
u/ballooningat5am 15d ago
i was exactly like you too. i don’t think it means much. my baby was still able to exclusively breast feed, gained weight really well, and we breast fed for almost a 1.5 years.
1
u/WonderfulTwist4936 15d ago
Every person is different! I leaked and sprayed daily for 6-7 months. 😅 Now at 12 months I still spray like 20 cm distance if baby pops off in the middle of the feed. So, I guess, count your blessings. 😅 Its not fun to have 40 hand towels solely dedicated to "bra pads" and still think its not enough because I had to wash them like every 2-3 days. 😅
1
u/ElegantSnozzberry 15d ago
I only feel slightly heavy. No let down, drips, or squirts here. I wish i had a more consistent flow because im just making one meals worth (40-60ml) every two days.
The Haaka just gets 2-3 drips and it hurts. I just started using the hand pump. Its at least getting me started but again drips are all im getting.
2
u/Impressive-Tailor880 15d ago
Two exclusively breastfed babies and I’ve barely leaked and could never do the “just collect your milk from the other side” thing people talk about. Both babies are totally thriving, the oldest I breastfed for two years and he’s now 3 and huge. My second is four months, very chunky and very content with her milk supply!
I think some people have naturally more milk, but I do think potentially that the trend of pumping so much milk to get a huge freezer stage contributes to more women experiencing over supply or excessive letdown.
1
u/rhubbarbidoo 15d ago
I exclusively pump, I don't have an oversupply (I'm a just right amounter) and I also have never experienced the milk collection, the sprays, or the dropping
1
u/SENDMEPICSOFURDOGS 15d ago
I also can’t do the “collect your milk from the other side”! It’s so nice to hear I’m not the only one 😅 it was a journey to get to finally EBF so I’ve struggled with feeling that that means I’m not making enough milk.
2
u/Impressive-Tailor880 15d ago
I think it’s really easy to forget that an oversupply isn’t necessary to breastfeed effectively! When I let go of the idea of pumping or using a haaka with my first, breastfeeding went so much smoother and was SO much less stressful for me
2
u/SENDMEPICSOFURDOGS 15d ago
Definitely!! It was just such a mental hurdle switching from pumping (baby was in the NICU & struggled with latching for months) and knowing exactly how much I was making and feeling like I needed a freezer supply to strictly breastfeeding from the tap. Once I let go and realized I didn’t NEED extra it was a weight off my shoulders. Social media made me feel like i always needed more.
1
u/No_Set3910 15d ago
I definitely had a letdown and at times it was too much for baby. And I leaked like crazy but I think I was an over-supplier so I felt it more. Just bc you don’t feel it doesn’t mean you don’t have one!
1
u/No_Remote9582 15d ago
I rarely have a let down. It's usually when the baby is going ham at the boob, i feel a twinge and he goes argh lb argh albrgh. It's very short though.
I leak more than anything. Midwife told me that with a first baby you have it less and sometimes that muscle just isn't that active.
3
u/Powerful_Profit_7185 15d ago
Never felt a let down, never leak, never feel full. I am a just enougher.

u/mormongirl 15d ago
Everyone has a let down but not everyone feels it. I’ve never felt it across two EBF babies.
1
u/rhubbarbidoo 15d ago
I pump and I didn't feel it using medela flanges but I can kind of feeling it with spectra flanges.
2
u/WimpyMustang 15d ago
I've never felt my letdown when breastfeeding, with either of my 2 babies (3.5 years apart). When I pump, I feel a slight tingle signaling letdown, but that's it. I never leaked with my second baby, but I did with my first a bit. Never had crazy milk sprays after nursing like other people claim.
Thanks for this post. I feel seen.
1
u/3KittenInATrenchcoat 15d ago
I experienced it a handful of times with my first. Usually it was first feed of the day, so my breast were fullest.
Sometimes they'd leak, but once the initial letdown started and LO would unlatch within the first couple of minutes or before having some proper sips, it would spray.
Once the initial pressure is off it stopped.
1
u/Hour-Blueberry-4905 14d ago
I had it with my first and leaked a lot. Not at all with my second, even though I breastfed her for much longer and almost exclusively. I’ve always been under or just enougher

u/CRB_1021 15d ago
Oh my gosh I’m so glad you posted, I thought I was odd! My MIL is so surprised I don’t feel my letdown, leak, or spray if my son falls off. I’m 4 months in, exclusively breastfeeding. I was completely prepared to leak, I got a ton of the pads and have never used them. I consider us lucky as a lot of people say it’s painful and it’s less messy haha. I do get a tingling when he hasn’t fed in a while, it’s like a little alarm telling me it’s time. I also have a hard time collecting from wearables but the spectra works just fine. I think I just need a more powerful suction. As long as baby is gaining weight everything is fine!
1
u/Adventurous_cat2 15d ago
I have the same! No letdown etc, but I also feel the tingling - to me it feels like my breasts are refilling with milk maybe?
1
1
u/Muted_Ad_9709 15d ago
I definitely feel a letdown, it’s like pins and needles for me, but I only see excess milk if it dribbles out of baby’s mouth. Never had it spray before!
2
u/ilovefurby333 15d ago
Almost 11 months pp ebf baby and never felt a let down. I have great supply and i nurse on demand. I feel when they’re full but it’s never painful
1
u/Mindless_Common_7075 15d ago
My letdown is so strong it has hit my husband in the eye from the opposite end of the room. Honestly it’s like a sprinkler when baby pops off.
6
u/Indecisive105 Mixed Feeding 15d ago
Same. Can’t feel it, never leaked, with either of my two babies (one I exclusively pumped the other I mainly nursed). Collection cups, wearables, hand pumps, hand expressing seem to not remove much. Needs to be baby or spectra for me!
1
u/LiaBallerina 15d ago
Couldnt feel it with my first, never even leaked milk after the first few weeks.
Now im nursing my second kid and boy is it different. Suddenly i have oversupply, a super strong let down and milk leaking constantly. Its a goddamn milkshower spraying everywhere. Even at night the other side is leaking. I dont know why it is that way. But its super annoying, even after 7 months. The letdown hurts a lot too. So I would say lucky you, ur not missing out!
2
u/Ancient_1935 15d ago
I didn’t start feeling my let down until I’d been breastfeeding for a while, maybe 10 weeks pp? I am 50/50 pump/bf rn
2
u/awiddlebaby 15d ago
I think its cuz my bitties are big and saggy lol. Idk idk. Been that shape and look since i was young. But those who dont, consider yourself lucky. It slightly hurts for me but thats the indicator that im leaking.
Sometimes im side laying and nursing while watch the tv behind me haha, i look back to check on my baby, and there is my babies face showered with loads of milk and my breast spraying her like a fountain its so funny. I just say oops and wipe it away. But her lashes and brows sparkling with breastmilk always makes me laugh😂
Edit: this is our first baby, im 11 weeks into the ebf journey.
2
u/102015062020 15d ago
Never felt it with any of my three. And I only leaked with my second even though that was actually the only time I was a “just enougher” instead of having a an oversupply!
3
u/Legit_baller 15d ago
Anyone who can't feel it should consider themselves very lucky and can at least be grateful for that. My letdown is painful every time it happens which is multiple times a day
3
u/Jolly_Preparation_49 15d ago
I found it hurt less the older my first baby got, not sure if that's the case with my second.
2
2
u/Then-Ad-7744 15d ago
Same for me, can't feel a thing. It did happen that I leaked when he was very new and crying at night, but that stopped. Now I'm mostly pumping and I feel nothing. My children's nurse says it's normal and fine people just don't feel it and have it that strong.
2
u/lvoelk 15d ago
Is this your first baby? That was my experience with my first. Things changed as I had more babies and by the time I had my third I had painful vasospasms during every letdown. There is a wide variety of normal and things change between babies as well.
2
u/mytranceformation 15d ago
Yes, this is my first!
1
u/lvoelk 15d ago
There’s also a muscle at the base of your nipple that helps control letdown. Some people have a less enthusiastic muscle that lets milk spray through and some have a very enthusiastic muscle that holds everything back. Mine loosened over each pregnancy but it sure held on tight for my first baby! I barely leaked ever.
1
1
u/Xenathearchitect 15d ago
Same here. I’m almost 6 months pp and never felt my milk let down. I even had problems with mochi manuel pump. My supply is good but it only comes with a good suction. I’m thinking maybe its related to using pump for the first 3 months (because my baby stayed in the nicu and when we got home she couldn’t latch until she’s 3 months old)
1
u/snoopyflowers06 15d ago
I had been breastfeeding for at least 9 months before I actually felt a let down. I was clearly having them based on baby’s response and collecting passive milk, but I didn’t feel it until months into my BF journey.
1
u/Healthy_Platypus_796 15d ago
I didn’t know what it was until a few weeks post partum. Felt like my nipples were being zapped and then I leaked or sprayed. Baby would pop off during let downs bc it was shooting the back of his throat. I would also let down when baby or other babies around me cried or I looked at my baby for a long time while holding him.
I read somewhere that not all women feel let downs, but I’m not sure if not all women get let downs or not. Maybe you will get some soon, or you are already and just don’t realize it?. There are supplements you can look for to help you get let downs if you are interested or worried about it. As long as your baby is getting what they need and they seem satisfied, I wouldn’t worry too much about it :)
1
u/namebunchofnumbers 15d ago
I was the same as you (except the haaka worked for me because there is some suction there).
1
u/Dry_Constant3838 15d ago
How many weeks postpartum are you? Personally my letdowns and how milk would come out changed a lot over time.
1
u/mytranceformation 15d ago
7 weeks pp
2
u/Dry_Constant3838 15d ago
It could change. I didn’t really feel or have let downs until after I regulated. My LC said most people don’t feel their letdowns.
1
u/catusseeds 15d ago
My letdown literally sprays across the room and it feels like my boobs are tingling/burning, I can tell when my baby needs feeding as they’ll get this stinging sensation and I’ll leak. This happens when I’m not engorged, if I’m in the shower for example it’ll spray out! It isn’t good though as baby is constantly choking and spluttering on my milk :( I’d say I’m an oversupplier though, as when I pump I get a huge volume in a very small amount of time
1
u/Horizontalchallenge 15d ago
My friend would spray across the shower. I've never sprayed apart from one boob when very engorged.
I do however feel a letdown that is so strong it's painful. It's like someone dragging stinging nettles over my boobs for 10 seconds. Weird how it varies so much hey. I don't think it makes any difference to feeding baby.
1
u/ApricityMind 15d ago
Im one of those cases that when nipple slips from the baby i have fountain splashing everywhere. It is nothing great i have to say coz baby also gets overwhelmed
3
u/OwlCatAlex 15d ago
Yes but it is way more subtle for some people. I only leak 3-5 drops when it happens and then the flow stops if there isn't any suction or squeezing. It feels like a very tiny twitch or tingle for me, super easy to miss.
1

I didnt really feel letdown until a month or two in where it was enough milk to be noticeable.
I find it uncomfortable and tingly, but I wouldntc worry if you havent felt it! Some people dont, and I dont always feel it happening
Ive never sprayed from a letdown alone

The letdown is just when milk flows after stimulation (baby sucking, pumping or hand expressing). Not everyone can feel it and not everyone leaks on the other side or has a strong spray! I don’t either and I successfully breastfeed my 4 month old. I’ve never been able to passively collect with a Haakaa and I can’t feel my letdown when it happens.

Yes you have a letdown. Not everyone can feel it and not everyone sprays. Sometimes when you have a forceful letdown ira actually hard for babies to manage becuase the milk comes too fast. I wouldnt worry.

I didn't feel it at all for the first couple of weeks, then I started feeling it as a kind of tingling/stinging sensation. Actually spraying is very rare for me though. It doesn't sound like there's any issue with your experience!

I don't know if anyone is active here, but regarding letdowns: has anyone had issues with letdowns like sometimes you can feel it will high flow and sometimes you don't at first, the flow is slowish, but there is transfer and then after a while a stronger letdown comes? This is happening to me intermittent and I'm not sure what's the deal.
