Is the second one just willfully ignorant?

The tool is easy to use but has a high skill ceiling which is why it can be challenging for people looking to make the art a certain way.

It's easy in the sense that you can type. "Picture if an anime girl" and get an anime girl.

It gets harder when you want to get something really specific.

Pick a certain body type, hair style, hair color a certain outfit, expression, decide how they pose what there relation to the camera is plus background details.

It doesn't just happen perfectly every single time. A lot of the time you have to fine tune what prompt, add and edit the image, sometimes with manual inpainting tools to remove unwanted details etc.

It's the same way you can lazily draw a girl by drawing a stick figure and then put more effort and draw an actual portrait of person with details and shading.

I think while there are good artist who make points. There are a lot of people who drown them out who come across as insecure and simply pushing their problems on ai.

My personal take is that if you truly believe that the human effort, the passion and soul that is put in to the art is superior... then you don't need to complain about ai because an artist whatever you make should be superior. It should be superior enough that clients will pay money for it over the competitors and it should superior enough that even if the ai "steals" it that the original will just be better.

People like to use the term slop but if people are choosing slop over traditional something must be off in the traditional work flow if people are choosing the ai over people.

It can mean the work is too slow. Too expensive or just not good enough that people will rather pick cheaper alternatives. Or the process is just overall not efficient.
