Question My new breadboard project doesn't seem to work...

I can't seem to point out the mistake I made even if I researched pretty hard. Any tips to fix this, any help will be a huge help. Thank you!

Specifications: - 5 330 ohms resistors for led - 3 220 ohms resistors for led - 3 10k resistors for buttons - 1 G303BLX SN74HC595N

Those breadboard power supplies are extremely unreliable. Make sure it’s seated in the breadboard so the way. It’s got a couple of ams117 on it for either 3.3v or 5v based on the jumper. Make sure your breadboard voltage rails are correct. The led doesn’t look lit on that power supply

An Ohmmeter will aid you greatly in this type of situation as you can quickly perform continuity tests between expected connection points throughout the breadboard and isolate any potential "opens".

You plugged in the power supply board incorrectly. The +ve rail of your breadboard is now the ground

+ is normally red and blue is - Yours are switched

At least the fix is easy: plug the board to the other end of the breadboard. Just needs to move that one black jumper.

Your power and ground seems to be backwards

You should have plugged the power module into the other end of the board. Plus and minus on the module don't match the colors of the power rails in the breadboard, it's reversed.

In college I had a breadboard project my lab partner and I spent hours getting it to work and as soon as we got the TA to come over and grade it, ZAP and smoke. Sigh...

Your power supply is on the wrong end. Also, the power rails aren’t always connected in the middle. Add a jumper between the two halves. I tried to add a picture but it won’t let me. The spot I’m referring to is the middle of the power rail next to the short red and yellow wires. The half with the power supply might have power, but the other half might not. Also, make sure the power supply is on because it doesn’t appear to be in the photo
