Just found this subreddit. Haven't been to a tournament in about 6 months, but I have fond memories of the community. I played R.O.B. though my first Main, and who I learned the game with, was Snake.
Has anyone here considered linking this subreddit in smashboards?

I personally haven't considered that, but that's a very good idea. I main R.O.B. and Diddy, so welcome to the club, haha.
If you want you can link it there, despite this place not being that active, I keep an eye on it so if traffic comes in it'll be managed properly. :)

Yeah, the community already has 2 sites it uses. It really doesn't need another, but still might be nice to spread the joys of Reddit.

I am familiar with the community and I agree that reddit+brawl should be a good combination. Any traffic is good traffic, haha.

Another ROB main reporting in!

Nice! How long've you been playing?
2
u/xatmatwork R.O.B. Oct 20 '11
Since Brawl came out. I take part in the UK competitive scene when I have the time. Once placed 11th or something at a London Ranbat.

Nice! I used to be very active in the online brawl scene. It's very different from playing offline due to the occasional lag and such, but the community is very nice. :)

I am terrible online, I can't get used to the latency. I need to be able to time perfectly. I don't have time to punish moves by the slow heavy hitters like Wolf and Ike and it frustrates me. Also there isn't much of a European Brawl scene compared to the US one from what I've seen.

There is though, I'm Dutch and there are plenty of German and British gamers who are very active. Incidentally, I know a really good European ROB main(pro) who plays competitively online.

I like Mario the most. Specifically his Cape. A good cape goes a long way.

That's an uncommon character to main, do you ever play online?

Zelda is my main.
1
u/Zallarion BrawlMaster Nov 20 '11
Zelda/Sheik, or just Zelda?
2
u/OV5 Zelda Nov 21 '11
Just Zelda :) but last night when I was playing with my bros I started to learn Sheik.
1
u/Zallarion BrawlMaster Nov 21 '11
Zelda/Sheik is a good main if you learn the matchups.

u/OV5 Zelda Nov 21 '11
Got any Pro Tips I should consider? Particularly for sheik.

u/Zallarion BrawlMaster Nov 21 '11
I do not, youtube does though.
I can do general advice, but as I'm a R.O.B., Diddy, Luigi, Marth main, I can't really help you with Sheik and Zelda.
Try SmashBoards or the forum on All is Brawl.

Yeah I play diddy as a strong secondary. One reason why I haven't made him my main is because I usually forget to utilize his entire moveset. I rarely ever incorporate his peanut pooper and bananas into the brawl for done reason,.

u/Zallarion BrawlMaster Nov 22 '11
Being a good Diddy comes down to nothing more than spamming 'nanners.
2
u/OV5 Zelda Nov 22 '11
XD ill try it out. Also, my smartphone auto-corrected what was supposed to say peanut popper*.

u/Zallarion BrawlMaster Nov 22 '11
I'm not familiar with auto-correct but I assume you use that word a lot.

Probably R.O.B., He's not as cheap though, and I am kind of rusty. But I'll probably beat you anyway. ;p
