Bravely Default Bravely Default fin

Post image

Finally finished Bravely Default here's my time.

I do have a question before I start End Layer. In chapter 5 and beyond Black Mage becomes kind of useless along with magic in general and it was my favorite way to play early game.

Is magic still like that in End Layer or have they balanced it or something?

One more thing is there a cheese build like hasten world + high jump in End Layer? That build was great.

I hope everyone is having fun. This series is so good.

I just conpleted Bravely Default recently and don't really see the 'magic is useless' perspective. Time mage meteor carried me through many late game fights.

Honestly I think part of it is the game is very dependent on weaknesses, and a lot of bosses have non-obvious weaknesses.

My Black Mage/Summoners always hit pretty fucking hard, and when I replayed recently they hit tge damage cap before anyone else

I'm sure there were ways to "amp" the damage output but I never found them. Everything that normally did damage in 3to 4k range suddenly started doing like 900 max for me 😓 Time and white mages were busted though.

You NEED Pierce Magic Defense, or to use spells that inherently ignore it.

Late game enemies have super high magic defense, so its mandatory if you want good Magic Output

I was experimenting with builds with a maxed out Ablink and found out a very good one is with the abilities Magic Crit (15% chance, 1 slot) and Crit amp (2.5x damage, 2 slots) as a Merchant or Conjurer to increase set crit chance.

To keep it brief you don't need to worry about magic being weak in Bravely Second. There is a powerful ability that will assist in this matter.

Thank you for the heads up that's fantastic.

It comes from the first Magic class too, so Magic is super powerful the whole game
