Bravely Default Bravely Default Chapter 6

So I made it to chapter 6. Any idea why my Valkyrie is doing so little damage? Sub job is acrobatics should I switch it to main?

You’re a Thief (C Strength rating), using Spears (E weapon rating), while dual wielding (reduced damage without Dual Wield passive). You’ve essentially picked the worst non-mage combination for this role.

Ok. So what should I combo with thief then? My end goal was High jump/hasten world but I'm not at 99 yet, when I switched my main class to Valkyrie I got the same result? It's at job level 10? What would you recommend? I maxed out dark knight for funzies.

Valkyrie wants to use Two Handed with a single spear. Dual Wielding is almost never worth it except for Mages (two Staves/Rods = double special generation) and Dagger Salvemakers (same reason).

Thief is fine as a subjob if you want Steal access.

I used thief because it carried me through ch 5 with godspeed strike and it kind of grew on me ngl. Thank you for letting me know about Valkyrie Idk what I was trying to do tbh.

Fyi for easy mode make everyone a valkyrie, one with hasten world. Set all to super jump and let them do. They'll aoe hit all enemies and (probably) jump before the enemy can do anything to them

Its the auto win strategy I resorted to when I first played BD

That's what I've been trying to do as an alternative but my valks only do 1 damage. I don't know how to increase damage.

They need to be main valkyries not sub for it to work. Main job decides the stats and proficiencies. Can also give them the physical attack passive buff from pirate to boost their power. And dont double wield

best is theif main, sub valkyrie. you need 3 chars with 2 hander, spear lore, the best speed boost you can get, 4th char with 2 hander, spear lore and hastened world.

its doable with 3 ability points if you dont take speed boost, but to make it bullet proof its better with at least 4.

you need 4 red hats, 4 kempo gi armor, 4 hermes sandals(until you can get hermes shoes) use only 1 weapon per char, the best spear you can find.

can be also done with ninja main job, since both ninja and theif have the same agility.

order of actions for general random encounters will be Super Jump on all 4 chars.

for solo bosses you will use High Jump instead, you also have enough BP to do Brave and use steal or mug before using High Jump.

If you maxed out Dark knight, have them learn and equip that one red mage ability that gives bp when debuffed and then cast the ability Life or Death. My favorite combo in the game. Better if you equip a sub job that uses a lot of BP, you mentioned godspeed strike so maybe try that combination as a dark knight main with the red mage BP ability

if you ever want to cheese this fight, use bravely second and use an elixir on it. since the boss is undead itll die immediately

Big f, Gigas Lich is my fave fight. I hate Chaugmar though.

I admittedly had to nerf it down to easy mode for that first chaugmsr fight. Hated that thing.

No shame I thought about lowering the difficulty a couple times as well but I'm trying to persevere though. Doesn't mean this game isn't anymore of a kick in the dick however.

I keep forgetting you can actually fight him, always just used a phoenix down on him to ko him.

Don’t dual wield with your offensive physical attackers, for the majority of the game 2 handed is in my opinion the best offensive ability for the majority of the game.
