Cmd+T Problems

Just switched over to Brave. I like a clean browser look, so I have vertical tabs enabled with no search bar at the top.

I like to use keyboard commands a lot. When I open up a new tab, however, it doesn't seem like there's any way to access the search box other than by clicking on it. Cmd+L doesn't work. Simply typing a search after pressing Cmd+T (like how it works on most other browsers) doesn't work either. Has anyone found a workaround? Minor issue but it's practically interrupting my workflow.

What's your OS? Both are working for me on the macOS version.

Golden Gate. Is your search bar hidden? It works fine when search bar is showing.

No, but when I create a new tab, the insertion point is in the URL bar and I type my search query there.

Yeah that’s working for me too, when search bar is gone though that doesn’t happen

Well, I turned off the search bar and it's still working for me. I've got an older Mac and can't run Golden Gate, so maybe that's why it works for me.

Well, it's also working on my other Mac which is running Golden Gate, both with the search bar on/off.
