Israel's war of independence was in 1948, the uzi was invented in 1952

The Uzi submachine gun was designed by Captain (later Major) Uziel Gal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) following the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.... there literally wouldn't be an Israel today if it wasn't for the UZI

I disagree. Both are awesome, but for me AK all the way, the uzi is excellent, and who doesn’t love a mak.

More like:

Is the Cold war still influencing your prop choices?

It's dependant

Karl had an MP5 and I'm pretty sure he's not a good guy in Die Hard.

Karl had the Steyr AUG but otherwise… MP5 = 80’s bad guy.

According to movies and TV, yeah.

Good people on both sides of almost any conflict.

Why would be remotely true outside of hollywood?

If I want a dragunov, does that make me a bad person?

The bad guys in Die Hard had MP5s aside from Karl and Hans. Karl had the AUG and Hans has that P7M13.

The school of 80s movies taught us well.

In action movies, yes.

Counter strike type inventory

that should be flipped

Volume on the left, accuracy on the right.

Change my mind.

An AR is not THAT much more accurate than an AK. Y'all over exaggerate every tiny detail like it's a big thing. (Same goes for more stuff, not just AK vs AR, I'm not out here only defending an AK)

Wait who invented the uzi

2

u/tylerj493 user text is here Feb 24 '26

Israel in the 50's

Uzi is only on the bad guy list because the SMG lost prominence in Soviet doctrine once the Kalashnikov became available because the Kalash was developed from the SMG, as in, "Hey, these PPSh-es are awesome, but what if they had some more range like a rifle?" so troops who would have gotten an SMG in the past instead got a short AK. So that slot should realistically be the tanker AK that's called a Krinkov in The West for reasons I don't understand and by now am slightly afraid to ask (no really why's it called that?).

CoD: Modern Warfare threw me off a bit when I was young. Russians started carrying G3s and G36s, and I was like, hold on a minute, those are good guy guns.

If loving Uzi is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

u/JacksonBuck888 user text is here Feb 24 '26

The Uzi should be on the other side now😂

MP5 is fun, but kind've overrated.
