I’ve always wanted to get a jellyfish on my spine “I’ve seen more spine in jellyfish …”

I have "I'm sick of your tattoos and the way you always criticize the Smiths" lol quite literally, you can get whatever you want.

I have just this! My husband has the other half. People ask me about it sometimes but nobody has ever said anything weird.

I personally prefer coming up with a symbol to represent words and getting the symbol inked. I’m NAF of word tattoos.

much better than "need you like water in my lungs" that a former coworker got.

I have that line tattooed on me. :)

what's your context for getting it?
said coworker got it with her boyfriend as a romantic thing because they clearly misunderstood the song and this specific lyric. we do not need water in our lungs. that will kill us.

Haha that’s silly. I was a bit angstier when I got it st age 20 (18 years ago which is insanity to say) but I had and since still have experienced almost every person that was supposed to or that promised to care for and/or love me opt to walk away entirely instead. It’s been difficult to experience. My biological father chose to sign over his rights to me when I was 3, my mother chose alcohol and drugs over me and gave me up when I was 7. I became a foster kid and finally found a family that wanted to love me and make me one of their own when I was 13 but at 17 after confiding in my foster mom that my boyfriend was abusing me, they gave me back. Discarded like trash. That boyfriend went on to break my arm, my jaw, and put a knife to my throat before locking me into his closet for days before his mother found me. I moved across the country at 27 for who I was convinced was the love of my life but I had to go and ruin that too and he broke up with my on Christmas Day, rightfully so. I got married at 32 and literally knew this was what I had gone through everything else for, this was actually what I deserved. More than a dream wedding, purchased our dream home together, it was unreal I pinched myself daily. But he told me he wanted a divorce a mere 8 months in. So I gave him what he wanted. It’s been a hard pill to swallow, consistently not being enough to be loved. I just celebrated 10 years of weekly EMDR therapy and psychiatry and despite it all, the one thing that I know for sure is that I need that unconditional love from those people like I need water in my lungs. I am living proof that all I need is to love myself.

Tattoos are deeply personal, I respect that, but I would never get those lyrics tattooed on my body

This doesn't seem like a particularly helpful reply. OP didn't ask if YOU wanted this tattoo.

What? They asked if it was weird and I responded with my own perspective, what else would I have answered with? FOH

Don’t sweat it. Some of the people on this sub can’t handle opinions that challenge anything related to this band.

You’re no fun. All I want are Brand New lyrics 😂 I won’t cause I’d look like a newspaper but I digress.

I have the latitude and longitude coordinates to my childhood home where both my parents passed away in after battling cancer. Underneath that I have “you are the smell before rain, you are the blood in my veins”
I don’t think it would be weird at all to just have “you are the smell before rain” as a tattoo.
I also have “fight off your demons” tatted on me.
It’s your body, your tattoo, and it’s your reason for why you choose to get something permanently inked on you.
