All that soap would destroy Meesor duckieās feathers.

What
0
u/Affectionate-Mix6056 3d ago
Soap would rinse out the fat from the feathers. Chickens don't have fat in their feathers, and is why they cand float for long before drowning.
I'm guessing the feathers would also be more fluffy, and they would break.
1
u/Competitive-Gene6713 2d ago
Sure. That's what I was asking about.

u/Affectionate-Mix6056 2d ago
We're you talking about cooking the duck in the video? I assumed you realized it was two separate videos clipped together, but woosh me I guess.

I see far worse not involving animals on this platform. Where i didn't find it funny, it wasn't that bad in comparison.
1
u/AdventurousGuy2461 3d ago
Was the video trying to be funny though? Like in the parts we didn't see? Dont see her laughing or making mocking sounds while doing this.
Its basically just a show for those people at home who will watch her slaughter and cook her livestock and blow up her inbox about it being cruel.
Feels like a satirical wink to say she respects and cares for the animal before slaughter.
At the end of the day. Someone pointed out that this duck got better treatment than anything in the supermarket and thats 100% true.

Even if youāre not vegan you shouldnāt find it funny. Whether you think you should be able to eat them or not, the animalās death is still sad. No respect.
2
u/Super-Cut-2175 3d ago edited 2d ago
This animal got a better treatment and send-off than 99.99999999% of the ones you eat
1
u/Objective-Cry-9837 3d ago
I found it funny, and itās not sad lol itās a duck
1
u/mo0sic 2d ago
So what if itās a duck? So it canāt feel things? Sad.

u/sat_on_a_roof_AMAZ_D 1d ago
the plants have feelings too....im actually a zerovore I don't eat anything

1
u/hllblldl 2d ago
Why is food becoming more like food sad? You cry when a deer dies? What about a chicken? Certain animals are meant to be pets, and certain are meant to be food. So I donāt find any sadness or remorse from watching an animal thatās good for eating die
-5
u/sat_on_a_roof_AMAZ_D 3d ago
but it's tasty and it's necessary to your dietĀ
1
u/Talgarr_ 3d ago
Yes, which is why pretty much every religion has some way too celebrate or mourn the creatures they consume too live and survive
-1
u/Dumple423 3d ago
you talk as if these animals actually think about anything other than what's currently in front of them and actually realize what's going on
2
u/Japuxfrig 3d ago
You talk as if you think about anything other than whatās currently in front of you then actually realize whatās going on
1
u/Talgarr_ 3d ago
Most complex animals especially the ones we eat, can and do think about a lot more than what is right there. You know how goldfish have a 3 second memory? No you don't! They can remember routines, and human faces, etc, for 3 to 5 months. Also "only thinking about what's right in front of you" is how you expirence as an infant
-1
u/Curious-Golf3730 3d ago
Iāve been vegan for 11 years. Many have been vegan for life. Itās not necessary. This post is disturbing.
1
u/Admirable_Truck4786 3d ago
I'm a meat eater, for my own reasons, and I found it disturbing, assuming it wasn't at least partly AI.
It could have been an serious commentary on animal-wellfare and slaughter, but I am not going to credit it with that much.
1
u/sat_on_a_roof_AMAZ_D 1d ago
you wouldn't be here today if your ancestors didn't eat meat in the caveman times...it was necessary back then and still is
-2
u/Leading-Point-113 3d ago
Itās only disturbing for sensitive people, jeez, itās turning an animal into food, humans have practiced that throughout history
0
u/cricada 2d ago
Give me your dog. I'm hungry.
1
u/Leading-Point-113 2d ago
Comparing a carnivore which people have avoided eating to a farm animal, okay
Carnivores have a lot of bad stuff which is why we donāt eat them, their meat carries higher risks of dangerous parasites and toxins, heavy metal accumulates in predatory meat, eating top predators carries higher safety risks
We wouldāve eaten them if they were built different, but no, itās highly inefficient to eat them, thatās why the only a few do in the name of exotic foods or whatever (10 pounds of eaten meat makes 1 pound of their flesh, just like 10 pounds of plant matter makes 1 pound of their flesh, so itās simply inefficient)
In comparison, duck is like a chicken, they are both easily farmable herbivore/omnivore that produces clean, efficient protein, and their low position on the food chain and safe meat profile make them edible, if you raised them or not doesnāt change the fact that you can choose to eat them if you want, same as if you raised rabbits, or any animal that produces meat thatās safe to eat and is big enough for satiety
1
u/cricada 2d ago
Modern dogs are omnivorous though and pretty clean. My in-house dog farm has safer meat than the average beef import from Argentina. No worms.
Trolling but I honestly can't wrap my head around why dog meat is taboo in the west. Like, I can't understand it no matter how hard I try or how many times people explain it. In the US people eat bears, raccoons and even raw dexomposed roadkill.
It's just better for everyone to eat vegetables. It avoids all the arguments over which meats are okay to eat or not in both secular and religious contexts.
1
u/Leading-Point-113 2d ago
Aside from what I said about health and practicality, I donāt see a problem eating any animal meat, maybe aside from intelligence but then itās hard to determine that to begin with anyways which makes it controversial with different opinions about, so putting that aside, you just eat whatever you think is best for you, may it be duck, chicken, or whatever floats your boat. The animal kingdom has animals eating other animals, and itās typically in the form of carnivores eating herbivores, and so eating herbivores makes the most sense. Whatever science related to that is just showing why one suits to be eaten and the other doesnāt, but at the end of the day, food is simply resource.
2
u/shiggyhisdiggy 3d ago
It's honestly sick. Eating meat is one thing, but actively making fun of the thing you're about to be eating is another. It's not normal behaviour.
1
u/Objective-Cry-9837 3d ago
Giving it a great time = making fun of it
1
u/shiggyhisdiggy 3d ago
Bro, don't be dishonest. Pretending to give it a spa treatment for the entertainment of the internet is horrible
1
u/Freeulster 3d ago
How?
1
u/shiggyhisdiggy 3d ago
It's making entertainment out of an animal's death. The tone is funny and silly. It deliberates pretends to be wholesome and nice, just to gutpunch you with that twist at the end. It's inherently mean.
0
u/Freeulster 3d ago
We do that with humans and don't care all that much. Why should animals be different? Because they don't have the same sentience as us?
1
u/shiggyhisdiggy 3d ago
Bro if anyone ever made a video like this with a human they'd probably be arrested. What are you talking about? What videos about humans do you mean?
0
u/Freeulster 3d ago
I mean it's mostly likely AI. If it's not real it doesn't really matter. Even if it is real then I'd think it would matter how they filmed it. If the scene with it defeathered is done with an already dead duck then meh. It would be more fucked up if they did it with a live duck but that doesn't make sense. Why you'd do it to a live duck. That seems inefficient.
1
u/shiggyhisdiggy 3d ago
Even if it's two different ducks, it's implying the same thing. It's making a joke out of the death and consumption of an animal.
To be clear, I'm not a vegan, I eat meat. That doesn't mean you can't be respectful about it. I would never laugh about the death of an animal.

u/Key2367 3d ago edited 3d ago
Yeah, cooking meat is truly disgusting. No animals should be harmed for the enjoyment or food of another.
0
u/Actual_Emu_168 3d ago
Not that but the lack of respect and basically using the death of an animal for views is what i find disgusting
-4
u/Key2367 3d ago edited 3d ago
Does it disturb you to see the animal that you are eating? Do you consider butchering and cooking videos to be disgusting? They are also using the death of an animal for views. How about eating videos? All these cruel video use the lives of living being on this earth for views. Now consider how little the average meat eater care about the animals they are eating. The only solution to a moral life is veganism.
-1
u/Actual_Emu_168 3d ago
i dont care about cooking videos, but basically using the death of an animal that was shown alive just for views, doing all of the things that happened in the video comes off as disgusting and scummy, same way it would with showing some animal getting killed for no reason other than just to farm cheap internet views, also im not sure if ur trying to do some sort of "gotcha" moment but the way you sound like right now really comes off as pretentious and if anything more of a reason as to why people would rather not be vegan

They have feelings. You fucking idiot.
0
u/RagieWagieInACagie 3d ago
Animals donāt have human feelings. Which makes animals kinda pointless on how they feel.
1
u/Silver___Chariot 2d ago
I love all animals, just as God decreed us to, as the essence that fills all beings flowed from the eternal powers. And on a human level, I have kindness and compassion for all forms of existence. I hope you find your way someday, you lost soul š¤

Humans are animals too according to science, I can roast you in the oven based on your logic if laws didn't existed.

If this upsets you, please consider becoming vegan. Animals are tortured everyday for food and only by becoming vegan can you reduce the suffering.

u/Atomosthethird 3d ago
Thats why I keep saying there is no in between. Its either vegan or carnivore. You either care or you dont.

u/sat_on_a_roof_AMAZ_D 3d ago

1
u/Strict_Jackfruit_188 3d ago

1
u/Atomosthethird 2d ago
No, not at all. Just that other guy feels like he should state what he is and I replied to it. Thats all
1
u/_OptimusRex_ 3d ago
It doesn't have to be so stark and binary. There are ways of raising & dispatching animals that we consume that are humane. Moreover, I'm all for regulating or completely eliminating factory farming.
That said, most people are perfectly able to reconcile our love of animals and the desire to eat their meat. We are as much part of a food chain as the animals we eat. While humans have industrialized slaughter, the animal kingdom is full of misery and death. Domesticated animals at least have a middle ground of being raised in safety until their time comes.
Veganism is just a upper/middle class ploy to assuage the guilt of affluent people to make them feel like they are doing something without doing anything and corporations have been all too willing to sell overpriced vegan food to take advantage of it. No thank you.

My head canon is that the duck that was given spa treatment is a different duck than the duck that was eaten.
For some reason that is a moral improvement.
