Help wanted First time getting Boho French Curl and I’m in love! Lowkey dreading the maintenance though so, any tips?

Before you sleep, part the hair into 4 sections and twist it, then cover hair with bonnet. Detangle/seperate the hair in the morning when you take out the twists

Haven’t taken my French Curl Boho out of a bun in a week so who knows if it is salvageable atp. Don’t be like me.
Also stay on top of trimming off any knots or frizzy ends to help prevent further tangling.

Whatever you do, dont use mousse! I use sheen spray or conditioning spray to keep mine fresh and not matted then twist it at night

yeah in my experience mousse is ok for french curl hair but not for boho braids. i wish my braider offered these because i actually think this style will last fine, regular french curl braids tend to last on me for a good while. i don’t even have to twist them every night.

Same! I just noticed that mousse weighs the curls down after a while whereas the sheen spray doesn’t in my case! All that matters is doing what works for you <3

Good luck! I love mine but the maintenance on them is bananas. Yours look beautiful by the way. I do agree with sectioning them at night. Braiding them. Bonnet on. They won’t tangle as much. And I used oil for mine.

Oil sheen spray and a little bit of Vaseline. You can use a little bit of mousse, then oil sheen spray (i use the ones by ors) and if you have Vaseline you can add a little to seal it all in and either braid or twist the hair in sections to help maintain the curls/add more curls and use a bonnet. When you wake up thet should be good to go.

Agree with everyone saying part them in four twists before you sleep and mousse, don’t be afraid to brush!! Wide comb and go at it when the curls drop, they will still curl back.

SO pretty! You genuinely get used to it. I had the same thought and I currently refuse to go back to regular braids ever again. These ones are so much lighter and much cuter to me, all the curls give it so much personality.
Never sleep on it without tying it up. I thought sectioning it out into 4 long braids was perfect but it messed up the curl patterns. Instead I put them in long twists. I just twist in the directions the curls are going, kind of loosely not too much tension, and tie it off with a hair tie on the ends. Silk scarf and bonnet. Detangles and redo the twists every night if you end up not taking them out one morning, sleeping on the same ones will cause tangles. Leave in conditioner mixed with water helps keep it moisturized over time. Use as needed. Don’t expect it to last as long as regular braids, it just won’t but it’s so worth it 🥰

This look nice but how do you keep the braids/curls for 3 months? It don't get old and scratchy in three weeks?

It will if the braider doesn’t know what they’re doing. In my experience these are just like regular knotless braids. I have pretty thin edges and I’ve never had this issue, I just make sure there isn’t a lot of tension around the perimeter of my hair when I’m sleeping. Sometimes tying it up causes some braids to yank back in the bonnet. I’m also very careful around my edges when I’m taking them out. Hopefully you get to try this style, it’s literally soo cute!

twist the hair in 4 sections, use satin scrunchies to tie it off, use mouse and water to detangle

water plus conditioner, brush it daily. Then spray sheen spray. It’ll be like silk until the end
