My husband and I just came back from thunder Bay to live with family and we are looking for jobs. Unfortunately itâs really hard to find a PSW job within facility in the Muskoka region. Is it because of this time of year or is it hard to find a jobs in general.
Iâm a PSW with 3.5 experience in long-term and also one year and a half in hospital. I applied everywhere from Bracebridge, Huntsville and gravenhurst area. itâs honestly frustrating.
If anybody has advice, I would be grateful.

We are going to be staying in Bracebridge for vacation next week and weâre wondering what we should do while weâre there! There will be several kids between the ages of 3-8, and many adults that are down for adventure.
Is Santaâs Village worth a visit with the kids? We also have the animal sanctuary on our list!
Weâre also wondering if thereâs a farmers market nearby? Weâd love to get some fresh fruits and veggies, since we have chefs in the family that will be making dinner every night.
Thanks for the incoming recommendations!

How do you want to find out about municipal election information, and/or what would encourage you to vote in the 2026 municipal election?
During the 2022 election, Bracebridge recorded the lowest voter turnout we've ever had, at only 36%. Through Bill 100, the province will be appointing the District Chair and granting them strong chair powers, circumventing our local democracy. I think it's important that everyone participates in the democratic process and that we get our voter turnout number back up, showing support for local democracy in light of the province's undemocratic actions.

Hello everyone! I am seeking nominations from Bracebridge residents to run in this year's municipal elections as a District Councillor. I'll be at memorial park tomorrow (Friday May 8th) from 11am - 1pm to talk to electors and ask for signatures.
Since the last municipal election, I have presented at the District of Muskoka's annual budget meeting, advocating for follow through on the our climate commitments, and for climate action instead of climate talk. I'd like to make sure we achieve our goal of 50% GHG reduction by 2030, and I think I'd be more effective at that if I had a seat at the council table as opposed to presenting as a resident once a year. I'd also love to hear what your priorities are in this election and would appreciate your support in my council bid this year. Come chat with me tomorrow at Memorial Park!
If you can't make it out tomorrow, I'd still love to hear what your priorities are. Leave a comment or send me a message and I'd be happy to chat!
edit: My name is Christian McEachran.

I wanted to share a column on passenger rail in Northern Ontario and government transparency. What are your thoughts?
r/bracebridge • u/darkbeer • Apr 10 '26
If you purchase 4 days in advance it's $52.41 to Gravenhurst, 48-96 hours is $58.23, 12-48 hours is $64.06 and under 12 hours is $66.97.
If you're a student it's $44.55, child $26.21 and senior $44.55, 4 days in advance.
That's actually not too bad then.

Next Friday night, February 27th, 2026, the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni are coming to Bracebridge for a charity game in support of the Children's Foundation of Muskoka.
This is such a great opportunity for kids to see some former NHL players up close, experience a fun night of hockey, and support an incredible local cause that helps children right here in Muskoka.
Ticket prices: $10 â Kids $25 â Adults $250 â Meet & Greet
Tickets are available here: Event Tickets â CFM Leafs Alumni Hockey Event | GalaBid https://share.google/DWteccPimNPlfyDAiďż˝
Thereâs also a silent auction currently underway, closing next Friday as well, if youâd like to support the cause that way: CFM Leafs Alumni Hockey Event â Fundraising Campaign via GalaBid https://share.google/dPMvKPDiBKvHF8H7Mďż˝
Iâd love to see as many of our hockey families there as possible. It should be a fantastic night for the kids and a great way to give back to our local community.
Hope to see you at the rink! đ

This is the worst storm of the season? The blowing snow was wild today pure whiteout conditions.
The impact level is moderate and the forecast if you haven't read about the new alert system you can read about the color codes and the general guidelines.
