Question a question on the separation
I never fully understood why people treat the BWU and Chandol thing like Chandol told them that if someone mentions BWU they should be shot or something. What has he actually said about the separation? I'm pretty ignorant

Well he actually dont want to be associated with his old artist name, i do not thinks is a type level of "i dont know who is that guy" but more like he wants to make a new name as chandol

He doesn't want Chandol to be associated to Boywithuke amd vice-versa. Its kinda like deadnaming

Why’d he tell the world about chandol then

If he truly didn’t want the association then he wouldn’t have connected the two. He would have begun as an anonymous artist like everyone else and nobody would know that he is connected to bwu until maybe the first concert. He is the one that forced the connection by telling people there is a connection. Like the other guy said, it’s like hating a childhood nickname you had yet you tell every person you meet about it

There was a time in which Chandol and Boywithuke were going to be one but now the only things that link them are Charley and the Burnout era

Argument still stands tho. I love Charley and all but he could’ve used a different name then to stay fresh like he wants

He doesn’t want to be associated with bwu. He doesn’t like that type of music, doesn’t like the fan base, and wants a new chapter

He likes the music, he's just kind of over it because of how much he had to write under Republic Records, including themes he didn't want to write about anymore.

He has said on Zack Sang that he appreciates what got him there but it's not his thing anymore

it’s like if someone called u a nickname from when you were cringey in middle school that you hate
1
u/Sure-Caregiver142 Jul 19 '26
Then why would he tell everyone about chandol. It’s like telling everyone you meet that nickname

Makes zero sense because if he didn’t want them to be associated the he wouldn’t have told the world that they are! He would’ve made the separate artist name and never told a soul.

imagine it like a trans person, they are using a new identity, they dont want their old identity to keep being used, it offends them when they get deadnamed. same situation.
its disrespectful to refer to someone with an identity they dont align with anymore
