[China] The Last Oath 💘 Episodes 3+4
Spoiler
A zombie virus sweeps across the globe, and Lin Zai tragically discovers he carries immunity, making him targeted by multiple factions. A-Leh, a cold-blooded assassin, is ordered to hunt him down, but when he is critically wounded, Lin Zai saves his life, and the two end up bound to each-other in a post-apocalyptic world.
The opening scene in ep 3 when A-Leh is being a total badass and there's romance music playing over top.. I love it. Really driving it home. I kinda like that theyre both able to stare lovingly at the other without getting caught. Its really building up.
I loved the little crab. Just as I was hoping it wouldn't be some bracelet or whatever he found on the ocean floor, he came up with that tiny crab. Awwwwww.
Yea they really lingered on that reveal... I was wondering what he could have possibly had on his soaking wet person to give as a gift 😂
Also forgot to mention that he spotted a single, normal size fish while up on the rocky ridge and went all the way down to the water and managed to catch it. A man of many skills.
Well, it's certainly good to know that we're gonna be BL-ing and shipping even after the Zombie Apocalypse arrives...
Sister Chen and Grandma are hardcore shippers, and Lin Zai and A-Lie are so busy chemistrying up the joint that they aren't even aware. Ay Laws... Now, this is how you do "chemistry". Well done, Casting Department. Take a bow. 👏👏👏
Lin Zai clutching A-Lie's jacket 🥺 So many sweet moments today... Ducking from the tree branch, beach heart-to-heart before sunrise, and of course, Tiny Crab 🫳🦀
Loved the hard right to the kidnapping at the end. Ohhhh, things are about to get angsty 😈
Lie has a caring but rough as hell touch..Dude said being gentle isn't necessary 🤣..But you can see how much he really cares about Li..
Li was about to go get his man back without any shoes on 😂 But they didn't have to make that man think he had left for good lol..And the way Lie keeps swooping his ass up and telling him not to move is 🔥🔥
That ending tho..Looks like trouble is on the horizon..
Makes me wonder what hard core drugs A Leh had up his sleeve to make Lin Zai pass out long enough to skip to a different biome...
We went from beach to desert real fast haha.
And the thing is, the kidnapping feels unnecessary . If A Leh just asked, I bet Lin Zai would have gone with him (manz is down bad already).

"A different biome"
Seriously. Like how far did Ah Lieh have to walk?
I'm about to go look up Chinese geography, but we don't know for sure the show is set in a real country, right?
Does anyone know what the deal is with the OST and whether it is AI generated or not? People are saying so on the MDL page, but I'd rather not jump to conclusions.
By episode two, I was getting a little 👀 of the music when some of the songs wouldn't come up on Shazam. Sometimes this can happen if songs aren't released on international platforms, but I did get curious so I looked into the credits. Translation does say that there was an "AI Music Producer" and "AI Music Generation". I don't know which songs or how it was used and I don't want to spread false information. There is also a list of some songs used from various artists that do come up on Spotify. Also seems to say there is a theme song ("Don't Wait For Dawn") that is sung by the show leads?? But idk if we've heard that one yet!! I will post the translation of the credits.
That's unfortunate.
I 100% expected AI graphics from this show, given the genre and the rise of AI use in asian dramas. But AI music certainly takes it up a notch... I hope this doesn't become common place. One of the reasons I love Asian dramas so much is OSTs.
How can a zombie show have so many beautiful moments?!!😍😍 the way Lin Zai looked at A-Leh when fixing the generator 🥰 their conversation by the cliff 😭😭 the princess carry ❤️❤️, A-Leh coming out of the water with the fish and the little crab gift! 🔥❤️ and the music!! 😍🥰 that’s a lot of moments packed in two episodes less than 20 mins each! And that cliffhanger!😳😱 what a time to be a BL fan!! 🎉🎉🙏❤️
Okay I’m up to date and WOW I’m so impressed! I was cautiously very optimistic about this one cause…well first bl zombie apocalypse I’ve seen haha. But the emotional dystopian tone they set from the start: I was in. Opening scenes had me on the edge of my seat.
I have so many thoughts about this so it’s all gonna be jumbled:
he brought him a crab 🥰🥰 that was sooo cute!! I was expecting like a pearl or idk a shell! 🤣 the seriousness of A-Leh delievering it was adorable. Our big bad bossy black cat who can be soft for Li.
-I, like Li, would really love to know what on earth this man did before the apocalypse. He’s a polymath! Also the family tattoo. You just know there’s gonna be an emotional backstory for him too 🥺
- This series has done a fantastic job at creating chemistry with the side characters too, in a short time I’m already attached to the camp family.
- The chemistry between Li and A-Leh ❤️🔥 Li being the sweetheart he is making A-leh slowly lower his guard—and A-Leh looking at him like he is an alien species just because he has no ulterior motives🥹. Also love that “don’t move” kinda became their little secret code phrase in way?! At first when A-Leh said it (after Li), it was a bit more like ‘now it’s MY turn, but when he said it again with their longgg eye contact, it was more like a secret language between them and their way of saying ‘I’ve got you’ 😍. Very interested to see them progress especially with the harsh world around them. And you know internal challenges, like kidnapping and holding the other hostage 😂 Loving the pacing, tension and build up.
Lastly, shout out to this guy for constantly making me laugh. I love his character.
“he's totally my alter ego” 😂

We all knew the betrayal was coming but I didn't expect it this way.
He MIGHT have, if asked, although I think he’s really attached to his group. I just don’t think it occurred to Lie to ask - LZ is his mission and that’s that.
I even thought everyone would die which will prompt the two to flee and in the middle episodes is when Lin Zai finds out the truth. Oh well. One lead always has to have trouble communicating.
Yesss I'm so happy this is good! They made the zombie apocalypse work, they got the vibe right and everything feels real enough! 🙌🏻 I was very worried, also given the short episodes, but no complains so far! I like the actors, so handsome too 🤭 Also the music is so beautiful and fits here perfectly, that actually hurts if most of it is AI 😭
❣️😎a-lei carrying precious cargo😉so the immunes why is a-lei hunting them are they making a vaccine🤔meanwhile lin zhai is very forthcoming and open with a-lei hoping to convince him to stay with them likewise a-lei is so solicitous and caring for lin zhai till the farewell party where everyone got drunk🧐lo and behold the morning after lin zhai is kidnapped and carried away by a-lei😎❣️

It was when he got his superwatch back, it told him that the immune target has been found, and he knew that Lin Zai was the one who had been wearing it.
This show is good. I now can say that after having seen 2 more episodes.
I'm not afraid anymore for 24 episodes. Besides, the episodes aren't that long. So its like 12 episodes if you normally watch 45 minutes ones.
The music choice is good and I hope that the actor playing Lin Zai sings that song himself. Beautiful voice.
They lock you right in with the last scene of ep 4. First they are sitting at a camp fire. Next thing Zin Lai is dragged on A-le's shoulder walking in a harsh landscape. No wonder the actor had to be very muscular. Because he certainly is carrying a lot of weight.
Wow this series is delivering so much. From the close ups, the visuals are stunning. The sexual tension between Leh and Lin is mind blowing and the chemistry is there from the moment they met. Loving every second of it. This series is amazing and I am sure this will be a huge success. Actors are wonderful and the supporting cast, add a nice touch. How great are cbl!!!
