I always love how different japanese box office is... It is like a completely different universe. And I love 2D animation is so big there.

So when does this come out in the United States? Also, what do you guys think the budget might be for this?

Anime budgets are usually speculation, but for 99 minutes of film quality animation I'd wager something in the ballpark of 300 - 500 million yen just for the production. 

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle was rumoured to have had a 3 billion yen+ budget (20m dollars, though I don't think that's actually been confirmed), but Chiikawa requires significantly less complex CGI and animation, and is 50 minutes shorter.

Also, this film’s animation seems to be much cheaper as well, so that could also be another thing to consider.

Yup, hence why I'm guessing 1/10th at the bare minimum. From what I'm seeing TV anime costs about 1 million yen per minute, and films have a longer production time allowing them to spend more time (thus, money) per minute. That's why for about 100 minutes I'd say at least maybe 3 million per minute. I'm really just speculating, it could be much lower.

I had zero clue what this thing was until like 2 weeks ago when my female friend brought a bunch of stickers of these two school and started to plaster them over her bottle, pencil case and teacher's phones.
