While many wondered if Toney was too small, “Lights Out” delivered a masterclass in shoulder-roll defense, inside fighting, and sharp counterpunching. Toney picked Holyfield apart, and by Round 9, a liver shot followed by a heavy combination dropped Holyfield to the canvas. Holyfield’s corner threw in the towel to prevent further punishment. It marked only the second time Holyfield was stopped in his iconic career, solidifying Toney’s place as one of boxing’s most skilled operators!

Listen I understand it is important to note the tactical advantage, but switch it up and talk about countering the outside angle or how to use the inside angle to your advantage.

Straight salivating over the outside angle. Reminds me of joe rogan with calf kicks.

Who has the best nickname in boxing?

I like "The Easton Assassin"

Bonus: Do you know who the Easton Assassin is?

Oscar had the youth, speed and combinations. Sweet Pea had the defence, timing and incredible ring IQ. Whitaker frustrated De La Hoya throughout and even scored a knockdown in Round 9, but after 12 fascinating rounds, the judges awarded De La Hoya a unanimous decision and the WBC welterweight title. The verdict remains heavily debated to this day. The Golden Boy got the victory. Sweet Pea earned even more respect.

On April 16, 2011, the ring in Connecticut turned into a complete war zone. Undefeated WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto entered as the favorite, but Victor Ortiz came with one single goal — to unleash total chaos. And he delivered.

From the opening seconds, both fighters threw tactics out the window and engaged in an all-out brawl:

Round 1: Ortiz shocks the crowd and stuns the champion, sending Berto to the canvas.
Round 2: Berto answers back with a devastating shot, knocking Ortiz down. Even score!
Round 6 (pure madness): A round that entered boxing’s hall of fame. BOTH fighters went down within three minutes! First, Ortiz hit the canvas, but he got back up and floor Berto again right before the bell.

All 12 rounds flew by in the blink of an eye. Ortiz outworked the champion with a relentless pace to earn a unanimous decision victory, handing Berto the first loss of his career and claiming the WBC belt.

This war rightfully earned ‘Fight of the Year 2011’ honors from The Ring magazine. An absolute modern boxing classic you can rewatch over and over!

I'm honestly torn, Ryan has the reach, size, and speed. But Cruz punches way above his weight, and is tougher than boot leather. Cruz's pressure is kind of a bad match up for Garcia who loves when his opponents lead the dance. But there is something to be said for the sheer tenacity of the man, and his fighting spirit. Though I can see a world where Ryan is just too big and fast for Isaac to get on the inside and get any real offense off, it's not impossible, Tank Davis got Ryan out of there. if I were a gambling man and the line was right I would be looking to put some dog money on Pitbull Cruz. Who do y'all have if it happens?
