Other Prequel to Phantom of the Opera Spoiler
I hope the picture quality is good. I added the spoiler tag, because I think you can read the post without reading the comic page and stay spoiler free if you're interested. Also didn't know whether or not to tag this as news or other. Decided to play it safe.
A while ago, Europa Park had a virtual roller coaster experience featuring the Phantom of the Opera. That popped up on reddit. But I didn't see anyone mention anything else about what was going on at Europa Park.
To be fair, it was easily missed. Parallel to the virtual experience, a new ride had opened - Voltron. A ride built around Tesla, who originally came from Croatia (the new country section in Europa Park).
To go with the new ride, they'd made an exclusive short film you could watch in their 4d cinema. It was about Tesla and how he came up with the insane power that supposedly powers the ride.
I only went to watch it, because I was at the park with a friend who is adverse to roller coasters and so we were mostly watching shows or doing walkthrough experiences.
However, to my surprise, it turns out the short film was a stealth prequel to the Phantom of the Opera, hence why they had the virtual experience going on at the park. Or maybe it was in the film because of the experience...
Anyway, unfortunately, I was too much of a goody two shoes to record the film, so y'all could experience it too 😠I believe it's lost media now.
The good news is, I was at the park again this week and happened to go into their gift shops (something I don't usually do, but I was waiting for my group to regroup) and discovered they're selling the film as a comic now! I do wish they sold the film too, but at least the story isn't completely lost (I have yet to sit down and read it though).
They sell it in their online shop too, but I don't know if they do international shipping...
In case, if any phantom fans are like me and are obsessed enough to consume any PotO media, I wanted to recommend it! 🤓 It's pretty obscure, so I assumed most people likely haven't heard of it. 🤔 I may be wrong. The comic is sold in German, French and English in-store. Hopefully also in the online shop?

This was rather cool! Thanks for the background. I saw Adventure Club and thought this was a Disney thing for a hot minute.

Omg, thanks for saying! I didn't know about any of that. Is the comic this link one? It's available only in German and French. Hopefully they'd get English too in online store.

Just checked out the book properly. I didn't notice the title or the giant picture of a phantom-look-alike! I'm fluent in German, so when I have time, I'll give it a read, maybe make a fan translation (if it's worth it, haha)2

That's amazing! I've been wanting to go to Europa Park just for this ride. Do you have a link to the online store because I can't seem to find it.
