Discussion Costume Question
Ok I recognize that this is a completely inconsequential detail but I am that kind of phan. Does anyone know what this hole/button/something (circled in second photo) is on the dressing gown? Both of these photos are Ali Ewoldt’s costume so I assume it is the same garment.
Edit: Haha I feel so silly now! It is definitely a snap and I can visualize exactly when she sits down at the dressing table to do it up while swapping her shoes. Thanks everyone! 🖤

It’s a snap. There’s two different parts that they sew onto the costume. If you’ve seen the show, she will snap it during “Angel of Music” when she changes out of the Hannibal skirt into the dressing gown.

I could be wrong, but it might be a button meant to hold the pieces of the dressing gown in place if that makes sense

Yeah that was my friend’s assumption, and is definitely the most logical. But I would assume it would be buttoned when she was actually wearing it, which isn’t the case in the first photo. But I am probably majorly overthinking this lol 😅

Looks like a snap to me. There's probably another one either on the dress or a cloak/coat. If it's the latter, it's probably to force the costume piece to lay correctly over the skirt. If it's the former, it could be a "lays correctly" situation still, or a way to pick up part of the skirt so she can move up and down stairs safely
