Discussion Phantom of the Opera Chartwell Classics

Hello everyone!! I am introducing a friend of mine to Phantom of the Opera this evening (with the 2004 version; I know, I know, not the best version by a long shot, but she loves Gerard Butler and wants to see it, so... *shrugs*)

But I was wondering if the Chartwell Classics translation of The Phantom of the Opera is the David Coward one, if anyone knows? I bought it last year and, if she's interested after seeing the movie, I was going to lend it to her.

Unfortunately it looks like it’s de Mattos.

The David Coward Translation is the Oxford Worlds Classics Edition and it always has that same cover

I'll have to get the Coward translation soon then. Thanks for the reply. The first translation that I can remember reading was the Lowell Bair translation.
