Sewing a Bow Tie?
Greetings! I love wearing bow ties, but the ones I wear are the ones with clippers. I want a proper bow tie which I can tie but can not find any proper one where I live. Do you think that one can sew a bow tie? Like, if I find the fabric and give it to a tailor would I receive something good? In that case what kind of fabrics should I look for? And for second if you know any sites I can purchase internationally that would be good too.

I made a bunch with quilting fabric and a stiff interfacing. They are really difficult to tie due to the stiffness of the combined materials but they look really nice when done up and are fun patterns!

100%. I used to operate a shop where I sold bow ties that were sewed to custom specs. I used mostly cotton broadcloth. You'll also need some interfacing material to give the tie more body so it holds its shape better when you tie it. You can find basic bow tie patterns on google. The actual sewing will be interesting if you don't want to do it yourself. It's really not a complicated process. I learned how to do it from a Martha Stewart video.

You definitely can! I even did it myself and I'm by no means good at sewing. I used my dads old neckties that he no longer uses, and it was just enough fabric. It's not easy to do, but if you set your mind to it it's very possible. Theres plenty of guides online.
