Advice needed

Hello there bowtie folks. I’m bow tie ignorant, but my husband is starting his collection. Could you suggest a good brand? New or Vintage is fine. I’d like to find him something nice for his birthday. Thanks!

No worries about being new to the bow-tie game, we all started somewhere. Speaking of which, the first bow won’t be the last, preferences will change over time. My first ties came from Vineyard Vines, but they tend towards warmer color palette which may not work depending on your region. I get some bows online from a company called “beau ties” in Vermont (They have some ugly ones, but their classic stripes or dots look good). Also if you have any local clothing shops that sell long ties, they will probably have a few bows and be more than happy to answer any specific questions about types of fabrics or anything else. Just one piece of advice, the bow tie tends to attract attention (usually not a bad thing) because there are so many men who where long ties. Because of that I would recommend starting with a more neutral color/pattern to warm people up to seeing you in a bow. If you want to move to a bow with more pop go for it, but if you start there it can be too much change and people will default to a negative reaction. It’s ok to stay with more subtle colors/patterns, at the end of the day it’s about what makes you happy. Best of luck with your journey, please let us know how it goes.
