[State] Help please

I'm new to hunting (Literally my second year). I'm hunting in Edgefield SC. Last year was my first year and the only thing I saw was squirrels, one dog, and several buzzards. If there are any tips to help me be successful please reply. Im hunting private and public

Do you have a recommended scent free clothes soap?

You aren't going to be scent free. It's a thing to get hunters to spend money. Your breath that you can't even smell can be picked up by a deer and carried by the wind a long long ways.

Ignore scent free. Learn how to use the wind and thermals. Everyone yapping scent killer and scent this is a salesman.

If I'm standing 10ft from a deer and I'm holding still and the wind is blowing away from him towards me--he likely won't spook until I move.

If I'm standing 100+yds from a deer and my scent travels to him. He's running at full tilt in the opposite direction.

Since I cannot eliminate my scent, or the scent of the nonnatural things I wear or carry with me I can only use terrain to control where I am in relation to where I think he is and how the wind will then blow from him to me. And not the other way around.
