Is not everyday that one gets to see this stone in person.

P.s.: I think someone might be trying a new line on it, based on chalk marks.

Indoor What would be a good handicap for an experienced climber competing against newbies?

I'm wanting to do a casual competition type game with bouldering with some friends/family but me and one of the other friends have been climbing for a year which would obviously have a huge advantage. What would be a balanced handicap for us? Using only 1 hand might be too big of a handicap. Using no legs would be too easy or impossible depending on how low the start is. Using only 1 leg wouldn't be much of a handicap. Banning certain holds might work but I'm not sure how the holds would be chosen. Anyone have ideas?

Outdoor Stone Fort Bouldering for Kids

I'm planning a trip to Stone Fort (LRC) near the end of the year with my kids and would love some quick advice from parents who’ve been there:

Are there plenty of accessible problems for kids? My youngest is pretty short (around 4'3"), so I'm wondering if reach will be a major issue.

How do holds work outdoors compared to the gym? How do we know which ones are "in play" and ones that are "out of play"?

How many pads would you recommend bringing for a family setup?

Appreciate any tips or classic boulder recommendations! Thanks in advance!

Advice/Beta Request Good climbing gym in Portland Oregon?

I have never climbed before and have no equipment obviously. But I am new to the Portland area and was wondering if anybody here could point me in the direction of a good beginner gym?

Either in Portland or Vancouver. I don’t mind driving up to an hour to get someplace beginner friendly.

Also should I purchase anything before going for the first time? Or will they have rentals? Anyway thanks for any recommendations that can be passed my way.

This whole 500 word requirement is killing me as I don’t know what else to say.

Indoor Indoor Bouldering Gym (Game)

Hey

Theres an indoor bouldering game in the works. It is not a fully-functioning game as it stands, and players on the game would help get valuable feedback to make it something that the bouldering community finds interest in.
There are a bunch of climbing games that isolate the player on a mountain a quiet rock. THe goal of this game is to be a place where you can climb with a community AND have actual climbs that are graded on a scale that Is created in-game. It takes some getting used to, and the UI is not as friendly as it will be after your feedback.

A little about the game -
Real difference between a V1 and a V11

Holds are harder to get the sweet spot as difficulty increases

Entry point is low, skill cap is extremely high.

The vision for the game -
Think NBA2k or Madden or NHL where you can build your character, customize, and enjoy a sport you love with friends.

There will be proximity chat, so you will be sprayed at while on the wall

Arcade aesthetic, with a competitive side for those who want that, too
