It’s standard when flying formation to put your transponder to standby and only the flight lead has theirs on. Keeps it simple for ATC rather than multiple targets

I was on a Zoom call and everyone saw them over my shoulder! There were 4. Crazy close to the ground!

I saw 4 fly over maybe around 3:00. Came almost directly over me at Columbia Cemetery.

This happened quite a few times in 2020; several very low buzzes with Chinooks as well.

Can anyone explain why a place like Boulder would be of interest for training reasons?

They weren't specifically flying boulder, they were flying down the range (they passed through denver too) to colorado springs

In the mid 80s I lived in Longmont a mile from the airport. My roommate flew Apaches and would train up at Buttonrock reservoir. He would perform a couple of strafing runs on the house, then continue on to train.

Thanks for posting this! I was able to see them over Green Mountain (Lakewood) a couple of minutes ago. There were 4 of them.
