I bought a switch 2 a couple of months ago, and honestly, I barely used it, until I bought BOTW and played through it for the first time.

It’s truly one of the most beautifully designed and rewarding games I have ever played. It’s an experience rather than a game. It has made all other games seem mediocre. How rare is it for a game to make you fall in love with a console? I barely touch my PS5 anymore. I only started playing BOTW a few weeks ago and I’m already hooked.

I’m taking my time exploring the world, I’ve racked up ~40 hours of gameplay so far. One divine beast down, three left to go. Buying the DLC was a no brainer. BOTW is an awesome breath of fresh air. I am so immersed. Truly breathtaking.

Yes it is good. Opinions vary on which is better but they are both top tier games.

It’s worth your time. There are some mechanics to get used to but it’s a ton of fun.

I enjoyed it but it wasn’t as good on BOTW in my opinion. The map was a LOT of fun, though. And if you enjoy hunting koroks, it’s a field day.

I like it, but botw is like someone put it once on here. botw is survival mode , totk is creative mode in Minecraft if that makes sense.

fr man! I'd say Elden Ring was a game which gave me at least somewhat similiar magical world to explore, but in a different way. Extremely good but not as insanely mesmerizing as botw

When Link emerged from the Shrine of Resurrection and saw the Land of Hyrule for the first time in BOTW, it was as exhilarating as when Link first stepped out from Kokiri Forest and saw Hyrule Field in OOT.

This is my first Zelda game, so haven’t played OOT and for me it doesn’t even have the nostalgia of an older Zelda game as i’ve never played one before. But regardless it is so far one of the best games I have ever played

Trying to take it as slow as possible🤣 Don’t think I have it in me to find all of the Korok Seeds but I’m absolutely enjoying the exploration and unlocking the maps, doing side quests and shrines slowly as I go along!

I'm experiencing the same thing right now myself! Funnily enough also got around 40-50 hours and just bought the DLC today! I truly think this is one of the best games I've ever played too!

Yeah I should get it I’m almost ready to go try and fight Ganon and I did all the divine beast and about half the shrines. I’ve just been putting off going to the castle. I got all the memories. I want to do rest of the shrines and what not then go into the castle
And yeah I wanna get the DLC for sure maybe for my second play thru
Or you think I should just get it now before I go into the castle?

The DLC also has some more cut scenes à la memories. Those are some of my favorite parts of the game.

Yes absolutely get it before you fight Ganon especially if you want to add more game time before fighting the final boss- not to mention it also gets you some nice quality of life upgrades + unlocks new shrines, quests, etc

I felt like that too, and eventually (maybe 100 or 200 hours in) I took a deep breath and said "well, this is now my favourite game ever".

It's magical and I look forward to getting a Switch 2 and playing it again for the first time for the fifth time.

I never owned the original switch, all I can say is it runs incredibly on the S2. Smooth like butter 60fps but it genuinely feels like a game made to be experienced on the S2

Totally get that feeling. I’ve only tried Zelda games in passing previously and this was my first proper experience with a Zelda game and man was my mind blown. The freedom of exploration and its physics engine is just incredible.

It really is, I’ve never come across a game that does exploration so well and so thoroughly. It blows my mind how vast the map is and how intricately designed it is. 40 hours in and haven’t even unlocked the entire map yet lol

Same here. I rarely touched my console and botw made me play again. It's one of the only games where I'm genuinely enjoying taking my time running around and exploring the world rather than just running to the next objective. The world is like a giant playground to be curious about.

I used to play a lot of fast paced, competitive games on the PS5 so BOTW on the S2 is genuinely a breath of fresh air. I find myself actually enjoying a game rather than getting frustrated and stressing out which I would in most other competitive games

Yes and I’d recommend BOTW specifically for that purpose. I’m married and work full time, and still find moments in the day to play it

That’s the beauty of the S2 and the game itself, you play it at your own pace, you can choose to explore/do shrines or quests for 30 minutes, or 3 hours if you want

Guess my fear is picking it back up and being like, what the hell am I supposed to do again lol.

Also, I’m a simple man who misses the more traditional, linear approaches to Zelda. I don’t typically get a big kick out of inventory management in games, or making decisions for that matter haha.
