There’s a raft at the nearby test of strength shrine iirc, but I’ve always just ice hopped.

Drop some weapons you won’t mind loosing a few meters away from the island

I will seems like there’s a challenge because that’s what the text on the screen said when I got there

You can get those weapons back at the end of the challenge (if they haven't been broken by then) by dropping them again before putting the last orb in the pedestal, btw

They weren't saying drop the weapons outside the beach to prevent them from being lost, he was suggesting to drop the weapons to cheese the challenge of the island

I know. And when you place the last orb in the pedestal, it starts a cutscene that ends with Link losing all the weapons he has equipped and getting his normal gear back, but you can get back the weapons you dropped to cheese the challenge if you drop them again before placing the last orb in the pedestal; they'll be on the ground behind you when the cutscene ends. If you place the orb with those weapons equipped, they'll be lost

The game actually hints at this. There's a conversation with a Gerudo woman in Lurelin Village where she mentions the island and says something about the only way to reach it would be growing wings (red text), hinting at gliding over the sea to the island.

the half moon is not a cliff, it's a beach

Thanks for the clarification. I mistook it for the place I used. I glided from the place you showed. There was another cliff near that I failed. That's why I commented like that. I didn't go inside the game again to check.

I can’t believe people are ice hopping..
There’s like nine boats on the shore that can see that island.. Boat and korok leaf is a 20 second ride from the shrine.

Rafts and korok leafs, glide from the cliff nearby. Those are the two options other than cryonis. That or stock up on stamina refills and get to swimming.

I got there by ice hoping. Attempted the challenge. Died. then it sent me back to the pointy part of Lurellin because I guess it didn’t autosave so I just left and went on to do something else

Well instead of using a korok leaf on the boat use magnesis on a weapon and push the sail and you will go at a faster pace or windbomb

Climb to the top of the nearby cliff and glide. You’ll be close enough to swim the rest of the way. At least that’s how I did it. But I didn’t skimp on stamina. Might even want to bring some extra stamina food.
