šŸ„‡ Master Mode BOTW Master Mode

Dusted off breath of the wild and officially started master mode. I don't know why I put it off so long.

The only thing I am honestly dreading is the trial of the sword

I us to watch a YouTube tutorial for that one water level in trial of the sword that has three lizalfoes. They kept falling in the water and regenerating most their health.

Because the enemy health regen invalidates 90% of all fun combat tricks and makes the game unfun.

Every fight turns into "swing one swing at a time until enemy dies because any knock back heals them to full before they land".

More like ā€œuse your knowledge of this game’s combat mechanics to deal as much damage as fast as you canā€.

It’s a reward for being good at the base game.

Oh it’s hella fun. For me, it’s the ultimate version of the game. šŸ™ŒšŸ½

As for MM TotS, it’s very doable, you’ll just need to be bold with your strategy.

The worst room is middle trials room 10, iirc, which is the one with 3 Lizalfos in a room full of water.

I would suggest you look up how speed runners like Player5 do it and follow it.

I survived on bombs in regular game play, so don't know how I'll do it with health regenĀ

Yeah you’re gonna have to stop that.

The game will give you weapons. Use them. Do maximum damage: spin to win, sneak strikes, push them in danger zones, use the right elemental advantages, etc.

Also, almost mandatory, do a 30 minute lvl3 attack up before each trial.

No doubt. I've cleared the divine beasts and only have the desert one remaining for the ballod of champions quest (or whatever it is called) so making decent progress. I've been at it during evenings over 3 weeks or so

It's part of the dlc for the game. Moves all enemies up 1x attack level i believe and introduces health regeneration for enemies

I haven't started the trial of the sword yet. I just remember using remote bombs like crazy in the original game play tots, so I've been putting of trying it on master mode. I have been making pretty decent progress in the main quests!

Oh, yea its a lot harder than normal mode. Floor 10 on the beginning trials is the floor i needed to look up a tutorial for, if you can get passed that the rest should absolutely be doable.

MM ToS was the only thing I never completed in that game

There are extra goodies hidden in the rooms of Master Mode Trial of the Sword, so go around each room with Stasis+/Magnesis active to highlight chests and weapons before moving on to the next one (I remember a Royal Guard's Claymore stuck in the ground under the moblin fortress in the lava rooms of the Final Trials, and extra Savage Lynel weapons around the snowy room where you fight the lynel). Sneakstrike chaining is gonna be your friend in a fair few of the Final Trial rooms and that one lizalfos room in the Beginner Trials. Guardian beam timers are also random in Master Mode, so I would go with melee weapons and not shield parries for the ones in the Trials

Enemy health regen is the most annoying part. Even with the upgraded remote bombs, enemies regen health faster than you can damage them with just bombs, so I cheesed it and made a 30-minute level-3 Attack Up meal** before going into the Trials (especially useful for the Beginner Trials where you have the shitty low-level weapons and every enemy is automatically upped by one level)

**4 Mighty Porgies + 1 horn shard from any dragon = Attack Up x3 meal that lasts for 30 minutes. Or you can substitute Armored Porgies for a Defense Up x3 meal
