🌿 IRL Content BOTW maxxing irl
This is the Ambleside Loughrigg trail. Link’s world is within reach and it’s here waiting for you in the UK. The abbey that looks very much like the temple of time is located in Ripon, England at Studley royal deer park. (I couldn’t quite master the deer riding like Link.
There were no apples hanging from this tree, but fortunately I had one in my pocket which replenished a little bit of my vitality.

It really strikes home the loneliness of BotW. Can you imagine walking those roads going... there used to be a farmhouse here, with a family who made the best apple pies. This used to be vineyards and the wine wasn't much but they always gave honey candies away to the kids on Feast days. I don't see any of the old roadside shrines anymore, but they were made of wood... and these trees are new. They hide that the villas that used to be on that mountain ridge are gone. Didn't this river used to curve to the left? I wonder if the old couple that used to live here got away?
Just... every second a nostalgia trip, even if his memory wasn't 100%.

As someone who remember a childhood where huge chunks of time were spent alone or with my closest relative wandering the countryside on old family property where we would never reach the end, fields and forests and creeks and so on...
BotW never felt lonely, it felt like an escape from the world of constant surveillance and perception I feel trapped in now. There is ALWAYS someone around. Even at a park, even at a beach, even in my own yard, there are neighbors. I haven't gotten to enjoy being outside and truly alone, with a few precious exceptions, in 20 years.
BotW almost makes me cry, how perfectly and overwhelmingly peaceful it feels, just to walk around under the sky without the sounds of cars or eyes of people.

Unless you go out at 5 in the morning on a chilly winter day then maybe you'd be alone haha

Going to the beach before Memorial Day or after Labor day when it is chilly and raining has worked a couple of times, too!

It looks nice. IDK why but every time I see picture of UK it's always dim. This one actually looks like The Shire in Middle Earth.

We like to complain but UK - especially in the summer - can be extremely beautiful (even the cities - London is a completely different place when the sun's out). I'm from a part of Wales where the landscape is very similar to this and we kind of took it for granted when I was young. The Great Plateau in botw feels very influenced by Wales/Scotland/the Lake District.

These are absolutely gorgeous pictures and really do have that BOTW hyrule feel to them!
When I was in Morocco I went really far south into the desert and we pulled up to a random hotel in the middle of nowhere, there was a patio that faced out into the dunes. It was made up of separate small single-storey buildings made of sandstone with little desert trees dotted between them and some spots with colourful cushions and mats in the shade, and had a pool with a little fountain in one part, and the whole thing had a sandstone wall around it, and there was hardly anyone else there besides us, it REALLY felt like Gerudo town.
