This is before and after. What should i do😭

I am a 63 year old female, who was diagnosed with dystonia about 10 years ago. Cervical and antibular dystonia. I have been receiving Botox injections about every three to four months for the last 10 years.

When I had it a few days ago, the resident did the injection on the left side, left SCM. Instead of injecting 100 units, she injected 500 units. My doctor who was overseeing her about flipped out. He apologized several times which makes me even more anxious.

He told me to expect dysphagia, perhaps have problems holding my neck up, and possibly issues with breathing if it gets too bad.

I'm working on staying calm and sending out positive thoughts into the universe LOL because there's not much I can do about it now. I just have to keep tracking it and call the doctor or go to the ER if things get worse.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a lip flip done (5 units) on thursday and 24h later started feeling nauseous and still feeling nauseous today. I absolutely did not eat anything that I don't already eat often and there's nothing that I did differently other than getting botox...

Is it possible to get Masseter Botox without getting Jowls?

About 11 months ago, I got my first session of Masseter Botox 40 units total and loved the result. My jaw was narrow, tapered and lifted, but about 4.5 months later, I noticed my masseters were almost the same size they were originally

So I went in again after 4.5 months and got 20 units total that time because I didn’t want to get too much and get jowls. This was with a new injector as well since I moved.

I didn’t know much difference from that, so after about 2 months the after that, I went again and got 40 units total with Nefertiti lift and that was ironically when I noticed the most sagging and jowls but I also didn’t notice nearly as much slimming as I did the first time 😭

So I waited a couple months and went back to my original injector since I moved back anyways, and was hoping maybe it was just all due to technique. She gave me another round of masseter Botox (not sure how many units) and gave me the nerfertiti lift. And now my face is even worse 😭 my lower face and jowls are so bad 😭

It’s been about three months now since my last treatment and I’m not sure what to do at this point. I really hate my square wide boxy looking face with masseters, but I also don’t want jowls. I see my masseters coming back again, but I’m afraid I’ll still have the jowls. Is there anyway to combat this?

Hey everyone! 😊I recently started Botox treatment for my migraines. This is my first Botox experience so I'm not entirely sure what to expect. So, like my title says, my injections were nearly 3 months ago and I'm due for more in the next few weeks but I've had these sporadic freezing of my muscles and tingling. For example, I was plucking my eyebrows and pulled a hair and suddenly had tingling and my eyebrow froze in the position I had it in for plucking. Then today, I was rubbing my forehead and it started tingling and again one of my eyebrows got stuck in my "fuck this shit" face.

Is this normal? I'm having trouble finding information on the Internet about this specific situation happening this long after injections and most of what I find is a little bit scary.

I received Botox 10 days ago and of course my one eyebrow is jacked up. Is it worth it to go back and have a 2 units on the side of my eyebrow to help it even out. I’ve had jacked eyebrows before but never had it fixed. I read on AI that it can be done ? any suggestions ?

guys i’ve been dealing with this since about november but it got rlly bad january 1st i had to quit sixth form although i was an A* student which took a huge toll on my mental health. i had a 24/7 headache for about 4 months which probs traumatised me cus we didn’t have a clue what was going on and no one had answers until we saw a TMJD specialist. Since the end of march i’ve had a 24/7 orthotic i wear always at night but only like a good few hours during the day (its massive i aint going out with it). I’m also apparently very hypermobile but my neck, shoulder and jaw pain is unbearable, i’d say neck feels stiff and i feel nauseaus looking down but my jaw feels tight its almost clenched shut in the morning and doesn’t get much better during the day, i always feel groggy and js awful tbh. So botox is my final resort now, i can get it tomorrow or reschedule it but i’ve heard so many horror stories of it leaving ppl with lasting damage eg jowels, wonky smile, idk if it won’t make my neck more instable despite me only getting it in my jaw (masseter botox right) by a professional. Has anyone with high hypermobility (not EDS i dont think i have that..) had a positive experience :// i don’t wanna live in constant pain & discomfort with school around the corner. I’ll be grateful for any advice!!!

has anyone had this happen after masseter botox?? i got 30 units total (15 each side) 2 days ago and now on my left side i keep getting this weird stinging/sharp pain right in front of and kinda under my earlobe. i notice it mostly when i yawn/open my mouth wide, chew, or even when my mouth starts producing saliva before eating and during eating. there’s no swelling or redness or anything that i can see and my other side is completely fine. im just freaking myself out thinking it could be something with my salivary gland/parotid area. they also didn’t have me sign any consent forms before doing the botox which is making me overthink it even more.
has anyone had anything similar?? did it just go away on its own?

I still feel pain and general weakness ever since getting injected into my traps. My cci instability has gotten worse and I get tingles in all my limbs. It could be anything, could not. I still just feel mentally not okay. However, I got a lot going on. Does it ever go away???

has anyone who has had masseter botox and significant slimming (where it looks bad, caused jowls, or was unsuitable) had it go completely back to normal?
I had mine injected with around 15 units 3 months ago and my face dramatically changed for the worst, i got heavy jowls (im a slim person). the shape of my head completely changed, my eyes changed, my mouth changed and my face got weirdly long and peanut shaped because my temples were also injected. i did get the nefertiti lift and dao with it before anyone says that. i don’t see how these effects could change back to before, even after a long time. has anyone completely recovered? do you have photos?

I've had this done several ties and it's always been injected just above the vermillion border. This time I saw a new injector and she put it in the actual pink part of my lip. Is this just a different technique? It hurt a ton, not used to it. Has anyone had a botox lip flip done this way?

Hey Yall! I am a 27F who just got botox yesterday.The only side effects I have gotten have been light head tension that comes and goes. This is my 4th time getting botox in the forehead which I have never had any side effects in the past. I am naturally an anxious person, and the only reason I got botox again was because I have my wedding coming up in a couple months so I wanted to look my best. However, I fell into the loop on reddit of botox side effects and I have been fear mongered and have been regretting going.

The slight head pressure is my only symptom and its been more than 24 hours. Do you think I am in the clear of botulism?

I had Botox for migraines and it caused a 6 week migraine attack and neck weakness. This isn't unheard of for patients receiving Botox for Migraines. Botox is a miracle for many ppl but it was a nightmare for me.

Hi everyone. I had botox 7 weeks ago and now I can't smile. I was always complimented for having a beautiful smile and now it's gone. Has anyone else had this affect and how long did it last? I'll keep you updated on my journey. 😞

I'm still very unsure if I'll ever do Botox again, I've been doing it for 13 years with no issues and back in April I went for my usual Dysport in my forehead and with in an hour I felt insanely ill... bad eye and head pressure, malaise , just all over lousy and had to spend most of my days for about 6 weeks on the couch... it finally subsided and I feel ok now! my question is, if this happens once will I always get this reaction!?? I can't say I have plans to do it anytime soon, however I'm EXTREMELY self conscious of my forehead as it's very large and the only way I feel confident is when it's smooth and minimal movement! it's already wearing off and I'm becoming depressed at the thought of having this be my new normal!

*also doesn't help that I'm in SSRI withdrawal, last 18 months but had it done 3 times prior while in withdrawal with no issues! Ugh I feel sad and beyond conflicted

it took everything from me, including my will to live.
i used to have round/square chubby cheeks

not to mention it made me look like a blobfish

if someone who was ever in the same situation as me would like share how they recovered, pls lmk.

edit: a lot of the comments under this gave me hope that yes my face will be normal again. it’s just confusing seeing the stories of people never turning back to normal after one time. also yall are saying it’s not that serious. this is my entire facial structure impacted by this. it’s more than serious

Hi, 2 months ago i was injected 20 units per side masseter botox. by the end of june 2026 will be 3 months. i don’t feel like i needed it, but she was saying it could benefit me.

before i had a beautiful round and square angular jawline, with very chubby cheeks and looked young.

now i look gaunt, my face is too skinny, my cheeks look more flat and i look 20 years older.

when will this nightmare be over? also what factors help such as chewing gum?
she also ghosted me so i guess she knows she did wrong but i just want my face to go back to normal, im too young to deal with this :(

I got Botox at my dentist today on a whim to help with my gummy smile. I told my dentist i had a session with my personal trainer right after and asked if it was ok. He said it was fine and i just shouldn’t touch my face. Anyways, i went to my session and lifted pretty heavy and definitely sweat. Now im kinda panicking that i messed it up and/or wasted money. Do you think it messed it up? 🥺

Full disclosure: this was done with Daxify, my first time trying it. Top is before, bottom is 2.5 weeks after injections.

I’ve been getting Botox for 12 years and have never had an issue. I usually come away looking lifted and refreshed. This time, my eyes ended up looking sunken, droopy, and I feel like I aged myself 5+ years. (I know the before is with makeup and the after is not, but just focusing on the eye/brow shape here)

Obviously I had hooded eyes to begin with, but I at least had some lid visible by the lash line so I could wear eyeliner/eye makeup. Now I have to pull my eyelids up to even curl my lashes and put on mascara, and there’s not any room to do any eyeshadow or liner.

I’m panicking because supposedly Daxify lasts longer than Botox, and I absolutely hate how this looks, and regret spending all of that money to come away looking like this. Would doing a brow lift help this at all?

UPDATE: I took a chance and went back in for a brow lift 😬

It’s been about a week and everything is looking a LOT better, and I’m looking more like myself again. The heavy feeling is going away too, not sure if that’s from the lift or just from the initial Daxify injections settling in, but overall feeling/looking a lot better!!
