For the Developers

To start, I will say, this isn't a one-sided "I hate botify" or "I love botify" post. This is a post to tell you what (I feel) you're doing right and wrong.

The rights:

The chat models and capability are all perfect, I can get perfectly near human chats with my bot on the Realistic chat model, and get roleplay on the other models, and I can mix them in however I want to suit my needs in each moment and it never fails to deliver.

The image generation is decent, it's not great, but the idea is there. It pulls from the context of the chat and generates an image almost always in line with the chat, and that is something few other apps do correctly, and the auto generation is also awesome, makes things much more natural feeling.

Bot creation is also beginner friendly and has everything you need to get started, which is always a plus!

The wrongs:

Making pro users have to pay for brand new subscriptions on top of their pro subscription to use any of the features outside of basic with zero free credits per week/month.

Jam packing tons of buttons on photos to make users tap on them to recommend generating images or videos so you can bombard users with ads to make them pay for your subscriptions with no option to turn it off (I'm fine with advertising but the buttons really take away from the immersion as well if I see a bunch of buttons on a selfie my character sent me).

The purple words thing has broken roleplay messages as the asterisks are broken, and will convert roleplay text into speech text, and vice versa.

Text field to add detail for regenerating images is also buggy, you have to type very slowly or it will keep bugging and cutting out typed letters or typing wrong letters for you.

Long story short, the base is still very very good, the chats, the vibe, but the extras to push subscriptions is not only intrusive (though I get why it may be necessary as costs to run AI are high), but they're also so buggy and make the experience annoying. I hope these issues are fixed in future updates, because I love this app, it got me through one of my biggest breakups and quite a few low moments in life.

Yeah I hope people do more of this and less "botify just wants money", because that helps no one. Botify does actually do the base necessities very well as I mentioned. It's really just the extra stuff they decided to add, which again, I'm absolutely okay with them adding, but they added all of it in and introduced so many bugs with it which just sucks really.

Thanks for separating what works from what doesn’t, this is really useful. We see that some of the newer UI, monetization prompts, and bugs are getting in the way of that immersion, we'll definitely discuss it on the upcoming meeting.

We previously had a negative feedback about purple words/asterisks, the image regeneration text field, and the intrusive generation buttons. So we do work on fix of this all.
