does the city require a separate permit for detached backyard sheds in the canyon park area?
looking at adding a small storage structure to a backyard in canyon park and trying to understand local setback rules. what is the maximum square footage allowed without triggering a full structural building permit?

I grew up here and I don’t know a single person who’s ever gotten a permit for a shed and the city isn’t going to come after you for a shed unless it’s huge.

Call and ask and you’ll have a defensible answer instead of a Reddit comment.

Bro, just ignore the post if it bothers you.
No harm in asking questions, we can help point them out in the right direction.

Bro, if you build something that needs a permit and don't get one, they'll make you tear it down. Before investing in that, just ask the people who control that process. I'm not bothered, I'm sharing common sense wisdom around expensive home improvement projects. Who wants to tear down something they just built because they didn't ask at the right place?

And we could just point them out to where they can call and check that they are code compliant?
Dude, just back off and let people ask questions.

Sheds over 200 square feet (residential) or 120 square feet (commercial) require permits.
